00:00Apparently there is life after Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay because Jordan Love took the
00:06pack all the way to the playoffs, a stunning, absolutely stunning second half of the season
00:12for Jordan Love last year.
00:14It was great to watch in fantasy, a guy that finished in a terrific way last year, QB5
00:22if you can imagine, through for 4,100 yards, 32 touchdowns, and now the Packers have expectations
00:27again, especially with the Bears having a rookie quarterback and, well, frankly, being
00:32the Bears, and a retooling Minnesota Vikings team.
00:36We'll get to those teams in just a moment, but we're going to start with the Green Bay
00:39Packers here in Jordan Love.
00:41Just to kind of run through some things for you, George, over the last eight starts of
00:45last season, Jordan Love averaged 268.8 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, just one interception
00:52for Jordan Love, and he had a completion percentage above 70%.
00:57It was fantastic, and he was kind of doing it with a bunch of, let's be honest, no name
01:01wide receiver.
01:02Jaden Reed's a nice player.
01:04He got the most out of Jaden Reed, Romeo Dobbs, all these pieces.
01:07He rarely had Aaron Jones on the field.
01:10So this was Jordan Love at his best without a lot to work with.
01:13This is also the youngest team in the NFL last year, looking to mature a little bit
01:17in 2024.
01:19Jordan Love is one of my favorite late-round QBs.
01:21I keep looking at this and saying, well, if he struggled so much in the first six weeks
01:25of the season and was so good in the last eight weeks, I'm not trying to extrapolate
01:29numbers.
01:30I'm just saying what we saw last week, last year, I should say, is probably the floor
01:33of Jordan Love, and that is something that I want to invest in.
01:37So if you're going to let the top-tier quarterbacks go or you're going to not like the ADP of
01:42the Richardsons or Lamars or even Joe Burrows, Jordan Love, to me, in that single quarterback
01:46league, George, is the pivot that I keep looking for time and time again.
01:50Him and Dak Prescott, both guys finished in the top five last year.
01:53Both guys are being drafted closer to QB 10 right now or 11 or 12.
01:58So are you as, I should say, excited about Jordan Love in 2024 as I am?
02:03Excited?
02:04I don't know if I would use the word excited.
02:07That being said, I don't have an issue with him as my fantasy quarterback.
02:11If I had to choose between Love and Dak, I'm probably going Dak only because, hmm, do the
02:17Cowboys have a running back?
02:19You know, I don't think they do.
02:21You know, sorry, Zeke.
02:22So I think I would throw the ball a lot is what I'm trying to go with that.
02:26Where Green Bay, I think I'll have more of a balanced offense here.
02:29So I think that might be why I would think Dak over Jordan Love.
02:32But once again, it's a small thing.
02:34It's the belief that I have.
02:35And anybody who knows me knows I am not a Dak guy.
02:37Just once again, fantasy from reality, I want to throw the football.
02:41But Love's Green Bay, it's just not fair.
02:44I mean, Favre to Rodgers to Love.
02:47You're going to go through 30, 40 years of quarterbacks.
02:49It's just not fair.
02:50It's just not.
02:51I mean, Love will be a Jet.
02:52I don't know what, 10, 15 years from now.
02:53That's an easy joke.
02:54Everybody's been saying that.
02:55It's still a good one, though.
02:56It's still a good one.
02:57It will be 38 years old.
02:58The time will be ticking and the Jets will go in there.
03:05The running back situation, we kind of touched on Josh Jacobs when we were doing the breakdowns
03:09of the running backs.
03:10I'm not sold on Josh Jacobs, especially the ADP.
03:13I don't like it at all.
03:14The overall ADP, more than even where he's going as a running back, because to me, I'd
03:19much rather be taking the Dwaddles and Nico Collins of the world and DJ Moors of the world
03:23and Michael Pittmans.
03:25But when you go past him, there are some interesting other guys in this backfield, not so much
03:28AJ Dillon, but Marshawn Lloyd, a guy that's got a lot of buzz out of camp, a lot of buzz
03:34from the head coach, too.
03:35What do you think about taking some late shares of Marshawn Lloyd as a sleeper who might,
03:39as the season goes on, possibly carve himself a bigger role?
03:42Absolutely.
03:43Once again, most teams use two running backs, and Josh Jacobs, by the way, he gets hurt,
03:48too.
03:49So you've got to take some dartboard throws, throw some mud against the wall, see if it
03:52sticks.
03:53Once again, you take Marshawn Lloyd late.
03:54Is he going to be on your roster the whole season?
03:56No.
03:57During bye weeks, you're going to want to replace him because you need to win that week,
03:59right?
04:00Or you're going to have injuries.
04:01Or the hot guy in the way of the wire, and he's the low guy with the totem pole.
04:04But why not a draft, take him around, whatever it is, 16, 14.
04:07You have nothing to lose here.
04:08Like I said, you can move on from him right away.
04:10But you might hit.
04:11Maybe Jacobs does get hurt early.
04:13Maybe Jacobs is not playing well, and Lloyd also looks like the next big thing here.
04:17He's taking more and more playing time away.
04:19So absolutely, top backup, running back, I have no problem.
04:22I wouldn't call him a handcuff.
04:24I would call him a guy who could eventually steal more of the starting role for us.
