00:00Hi kids! Today we will learn about parts of speech. So let's start.
00:09Kids, everything we say, whether it's a statement, a command, an interrogative sentence, or an exclamatory sentence, has some words in it.
00:23Word is the smallest unit of English language that has a distinct meaning.
00:30And each word of English language can be categorized into one of the following categories, known as the parts of speech.
00:42Every word can either be a noun, a pronoun, a verb, an adverb, an adjective, a conjunction, a preposition, or an interjection.
00:59Now, let's learn about all of them one by one.
01:04Noun
01:06This part of speech refers to the words that are used to name persons, animals, birds, places, things, even ideas and feelings.
01:19Here are some examples.
01:22Tom is going to school.
01:26Here, Tom is the name of a person, and school is the name of an institution, so these are nouns.
01:38This is my chair.

02:03Proper nouns
02:06Proper nouns always start with a capital letter and refer to specific names of persons, places, or things,
02:16like Ebony Garden, Earth, Mercury, Sunday, Monday, Pizza Hut, etc.
02:27Common nouns
02:29Common nouns are the generic names of persons, things, or places, like car, pizza, eraser, house, office, or movie.

03:12Concrete nouns are nouns that you can touch or physically experience.
03:18Another type of categorization of nouns is abstract nouns.
03:25Abstract nouns are those nouns that you cannot touch or physically observe, like happiness, sadness, excitement.
03:39These are the names of feelings and not material objects.
03:44You can neither touch nor physically observe these nouns.
03:50One more type of noun is collective nouns.
03:55Collective nouns refer to groups of persons, animals, or things.
