00:00The London Spirit won the toss, electing to field, they made one change, Abbey Freeborn
00:19came in for Monroe, the Manchester Originals, they are unchanged for the sixth game in a
00:24row.
00:25Both sides trying to win, trying to get into those eliminator spots and trying to get back
00:30here for a final a week Sunday.
00:35Perfect conditions for cricket, last time the London Spirit were here at home it was
00:40a thrilling tie against the Oval Invincibles, qualification is still in their hands, win
00:47all their games and they will go through at least to the eliminator stage.
00:53A batting friendly pitch but we have some high class batters on show.
00:58Laura Wolfhard has been in good nick, Beth Mooney needs a score, she is a high class
01:02player, right hand left hand combination.
01:08No surprise it will be the left arm swing of Tara Norris to come from the pavilion end,
01:15she will swing it and move it down the slope into the right hander away from the left hander.
01:21Laura Wolfhard as she often does is just warming up with that squash ball, she just
01:25trains the eyes, knocking it up in the air off the edge of her bat.
01:41There is that shape and movement into the right hander and that is why the two sweepers
01:45were in a power play.
01:47Beth Mooney outstanding batter.
02:01Looks like Danny Gibson is going to bowl the next five from the pavilion end.
02:11That's about the perfect line from an angle round the wicket.
02:18Down the pitch and past extra cover, I think it was landing a short extra, it just put
02:23a hand out but it went through quickly.
02:28Beautifully played, beautifully placed as well, first boundary for Laura Wolfhard.
02:33Oh no, that's gone, you don't need to review that, it has been skidding on.
02:41Laura Wolfhard is a very good player, she has been one of the few batters in excellent
02:46form for the originals.
02:48Emma Lamb comes in, at times they have promoted Eve Jones, it may be to continue with the
02:53left hand right hand combination, Eve Jones left handed and while Beth Mooney is at the
02:59other end.
03:04Again one was in the air.
03:11Good effort, Sarah Glenn, gone, given, absolute beauty, yet again the change of pace from
03:23Dean has worked and the London Spirit get the second, gone, gone I think, brilliant
03:33catch, brilliant, brilliant shot, some handy footwork there, real first show of intent
03:48over the top from Bryce, picked up and dispatched, one bounce for, that's close, that's very
04:01close, yeah, given.
04:07Pitching in line, impact in line, hitting the wickets, go back on field to Sophie, stay
04:12with your original decision of out, stand by, surely out, absolutely salmon.
04:26Good hit, straight in between the two fielders, short while ago, this will help, that reverse
04:35flick, reverse scoop, Disharma, Cordelia Griffiths, what a good catch, and that's going to go
04:49in the gap.
04:55Change of plan works, might have been a brilliant take at the non-strikers end, this will be
05:01sent upstairs and will be very tight, Danny Gibson did really well here to gather the
05:05ball and break the stumps.
05:10Keep rolling forwards, about as short as ground, ready for my big screen please.
05:16Was a slightly steeper bounce than she imagined.
05:24What a useful four, that is, Alice Marner has only got a couple of balls left.
05:32Good ball to finish because it was full, maybe not quite as straight as she wanted, but 112
05:38a competitive score just before the end of the 100 balls were up, and the originals,
05:44Wolfhard for once not contributing just five at the top of the order, Beth Mooney played
05:49nicely for 20, Emma Lamb for 28, Catherine Bryce gave some impetus to the innings in
05:54the middle phase with 32, and Fee Morris finishing with a quick fire, 17, 112 for 7.
06:03Six bowlers used for the London Spirit, spinners doing pretty much all the damage, Charlie
06:10Dean the standout, three for 20, Dipti Sharma, one for 24, and Sarah Glen, two for 20, excellent
06:18on the bowling unit. Here we go, Garth to Redmayne, what a beautiful start.
06:29In Meg Lanning.
06:34Oh, first match at Lords and she's almost up,
06:37ready for the LB shout, little wry smile on Lanning's face.
06:48So she goes up and over.
06:53Get ready, Lauren Filer, don't worry about the fielders when you've got pace.
06:59Oh, gets onto the front foot nicely and doesn't bother about swivelling back,
07:03just gets the hands through the ball up the hill.
07:08Straight down the ground, don't bother running there, Cordelia, that has found the boundary.
07:17Back through the gate, down the slope.
07:24Finds the gap, runs down the hill to the boundary.
07:31She goes to reverse and it's through.
07:38Well, Redmayne has hit two glorious straight drives down the ground.
07:43Oh, yeah, that's a little gimme on the hit to the lefty.
07:53Very firmly hit.
07:58Lovely, that is a delightful shot.
08:05And again, good job, third went back to the fence, otherwise that, well, it may well yet
08:09be a boundary, the back foot may have touched the boundary rope and indeed is signalled a four.
08:15So that is an expensive over.
08:22Well, what a way to finish this game.
08:24So a victory for the home team, for the London spirit.
08:29And that will very much keep their hopes alive of getting through to the business
08:34end of the competition, the originals, their tournament is looking shakier by the day.
08:40So.
