00:00:00This is Nicaragua, where these 16 New Zealanders are about to begin the adventure of a lifetime.
00:00:26I know nothing about Nicaragua. I had no idea where it was.
00:00:30I actually didn't know where South America or North America was.
00:00:33So I guess it's a massive shock because I'm from a little small town.
00:00:40It is the biggest country in Central America, with a rich history coloured with conflict and revolution.
00:00:50Which is why it's fitting our fresh-faced Kiwi survivors should face their own battle right here.
00:01:01This is my game. This is my passion. I know how to mess with people, but I also know how to get them to trust me.
00:01:07And I'm funny. I'm charming. I've got it all.
00:01:10Staged in the lush tropical jungle, filled with diverse and dangerous wildlife.
00:01:17Yes, there are jaguars, snakes, scorpions and big ugly spiders. They are out there, but they've always been out there.
00:01:25It's not like every day a Kiwi wakes up and looks outside and sees a jaguar or a tarantula.
00:01:30And I'll take on any gang member, but I won't take on a spider.
00:01:34Just how will New Zealanders cope competing in the world's toughest game?
00:01:418,000 people applied, just 16 will make it to the beach, but in 40 days time there will be only one survivor.
00:02:11This is my game. This is my passion. I know how to mess with people, but I also know how to get them to trust me.
00:02:18It's not like every day a Kiwi wakes up and looks outside and sees a jaguar or a tarantula.

00:03:00It's not like every day a Kiwi wakes up and looks outside and sees a tarantula.
00:03:06Come on over, guys!
00:03:08I am so excited. Just standing on this beach is unreal.
00:03:14I have to keep pinching myself and reminding myself where I am.
00:03:17It's just like an absolute dream to me.
00:03:36Welcome to Nukaragua, New Zealand's first ever Survivor.
00:03:44In this first season, 16 of you will be competing against one another
00:03:48to see who can outwit, outlast and outplay the rest and take away $100,000.
00:03:58I dream of being in a tribal council. I dream of being on the sand.
00:04:02I dream of being on the sand. I dream of being in the water.
00:04:06Like, this is incredible.
00:04:10Any of you more than happy to be labelled the villain if it means winning this game?
00:04:19Dee?
00:04:20I'm in.
00:04:21I'm surprised by your answer.
00:04:23I think that generally I'm going to be labelled the villain just for the way that I look.
00:04:27So I might as well accept that.
00:04:29And if it means winning the game, why wouldn't you do whatever it takes?
00:04:35Michael, do you think Dee's already looking like the villain?
00:04:39You never know. Looks can be deceiving.
00:04:43Any of you guys think you've got game when it comes to the physical challenges?
00:04:46Nathan?
00:04:47Maybe a few years ago, but I'm an old man now.
00:04:51Who thinks they can put food on the table?
00:04:55Tony, how are you going to do that?
00:04:57Well, there's a lot of stuff that creeps around out there in the bush.
00:05:00I'm sure I can come up with something that's edible.
00:05:02The things they teach you as a soldier is attention to detail.
00:05:05I'm also a former unit tracker.
00:05:07I can track a human through the bush.
00:05:09I can stay on this beach for a month.
00:05:11All I need is water.
00:05:12I mean, this environment, yes, it's hot. It's horrible.
00:05:15Hey, guess what? This is Survivor.
00:05:18All right, let's get into it.
00:05:19First things first, the teams.
00:05:22Come forward and take your buff.
00:05:24Orange buffs, your mogaton.
00:05:26Sala.
00:05:33Woo-hoo!
00:05:35Hannah.
00:05:37I am a plus-size model.
00:05:40I play roller derby.
00:05:43And I am a power laughter.
00:05:46Avi.
00:05:50Isabel.
00:05:52I'm here on Survivor because I can't resist a challenge.
00:05:55I love proving people wrong,
00:05:57and I just love it when people get surprised
00:05:59and they think, I can't do something, and then I do it.
00:06:03Tom.
00:06:08Gosh, my heart's racing.
00:06:09Shayna.
00:06:10Yes!
00:06:17Anthony.
00:06:21And last but probably not least, Louisa.
00:06:26Thanks.
00:06:27Cheers.
00:06:28Sala and Shayna, you're looking pretty stoked.
00:06:31How are you feeling about your new tribe?
00:06:33I've got my brother from another mother over here,
00:06:35which I'm really happy about.
00:06:37Shay, when she walked over and she said,
00:06:38you know, brother from another mother,
00:06:40that saying worried me because it felt
00:06:43like a strategic backline alliance.
00:06:47Your mogaton tribe,
00:06:48named after Ngaragua's highest mountain.
00:06:51It'll be interesting to see if you can live up to your mighty name,
00:06:54which means purple buffs for you other guys.
00:06:57Barb.
00:06:58Yes!
00:07:00I look good in blue.
00:07:01It's purple, isn't it, Barb?
00:07:02I know, but it's a cool colour.
00:07:04Okay.
00:07:05Georgia.
00:07:07I don't know why I had this feeling,
00:07:08but I didn't want to be in that first team.
00:07:11I was actually stoked.
00:07:12When I looked around, saw the members,
00:07:14I was super happy.
00:07:16Maida.
00:07:17Maida.
00:07:19Nathan.
00:07:20I was pretty concerned when they delegated up into tribes,
00:07:23having that ride in on the truck,
00:07:25you tend to make a bit of a quick connection.
00:07:27Most of the people that I had formed some kind of connection with
00:07:30were on the other side, so I was pretty gutted.
00:07:32Jack.
00:07:33How's it going?
00:07:34Cheers, brother. Good, mate.
00:07:35Shannon.
00:07:37Lee.
00:07:41Cheers.
00:07:43Michael.
00:07:46Cheers, mate.
00:07:47And of course, D.
00:07:49Thank you very much.
00:07:50You're welcome.
00:07:53Yeah, guys.
00:07:54Purple tribe,
00:07:55Yohamosa,
00:07:56named after the bay right here
00:07:58and also Spanish for beautiful.
00:08:01Barb.
00:08:02Well, of course, Jack.
00:08:03A tribe name perfectly suited to you, I think.
00:08:05I think it's perfectly an apt name.
00:08:08Michael, what are you making, new tribe mates?
00:08:12Yeah, I'm really happy with what I got.
00:08:14It looks like we've got a pretty competitive team.
00:08:16So when I look around at the other tribes,
00:08:18as Matt's called them out,
00:08:19I see that Mike and Lee and Jack and Nathan,
00:08:23you know, the people who I had made a quick and easy bond with
00:08:27are on the other side,
00:08:29and I feel like I don't know these people.
00:08:31Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy being part of the team, guys,
00:08:35because by the end of the day,
00:08:37two of you will no longer be in these tribes.
00:08:41That's right.
00:08:42One person from Mogaton, one from Yohamosa,
00:08:45will be voted out at the very first tribal council tonight.
00:08:49Gone.
00:08:50Just like that.
00:08:56Georgia, you are looking very worried.
00:08:58Why so worried?
00:08:59That sucks.
00:09:01It's day one and already we've got to vote someone out.
00:09:04That's so sad.
00:09:06It's day one and already we've got to vote someone out.
00:09:09That's so stink.
00:09:12We're not even on the ground and bang, someone's going home.
00:09:15Ah, unfair.
00:09:17Someone has to go home
00:09:18and they haven't even been given a chance to put their best foot forward.
00:09:21You guys know you're here to play a game?
00:09:23It's a harsh game for day one.
00:09:25It's a harsh game from day one.
00:09:27I reckon you guys have got it pretty well worked out already.
00:09:30All right, no mucking around getting into this competition either.
00:09:34We're kicking things off with a challenge right now.
00:09:39Of course we are.
00:09:41Georgia's feeling pretty good about that.
00:09:45I'm going to give you two minutes
00:09:47to clean everything off this boat you can.
00:09:50Whatever you have on your tri-mat at the finish is yours to keep.
00:09:55Come on, guys.
00:09:59The big prize, the large sack of rice
00:10:02and Flint is locked in the chest in the middle of the boat.
00:10:06But before you get to that,
00:10:08you're going to have to find a key
00:10:10buried under one of these coloured rocks.
00:10:12I have made a fire before without Flint.
00:10:15It takes a lot of time and a lot of perseverance.
00:10:18Survivors ready?
00:10:19Your time starts now.
00:10:21Go!
00:10:23This challenge is on.
00:10:26Bit of strategy already at play here.
00:10:29Both teams going for the key.
00:10:31Both teams going for the loop.
00:10:35Tom is digging hard.
00:10:37No-one's found the key.
00:10:39Just how important is that rice and that Flint?
00:10:42Flint creates fire.
00:10:45Fire boils water.
00:10:48Mogatom getting some good loot already.
00:10:5190 seconds remaining.
00:10:53Both tribes working hard.
00:10:55No surprise, Barb's going for the vegetables.
00:11:00Zala losing some gravy.
00:11:02Arby's working hard.
00:11:04Looks like Mogatom's got the front edge at this point.
00:11:07Jack is working hard.
00:11:09Tom's still digging.
00:11:12Michael's digging.
00:11:1430 seconds to go.
00:11:16Dig it in!
00:11:17You've got to start as you mean to go on.
00:11:22Isabel, she has got this game down.
00:11:25No-one finds the key.
00:11:27No-one gets the rice or that Flint.
00:11:30It's going to be a dry, hungry night.
00:11:32This is it, right here.
00:11:34Isabel testing the rules early in this game.
00:11:38Keep working, guys.
00:11:39It's now or never.
00:11:4010, 9, 8, 7, 6,
00:11:455, 4, 3, 2, 1.
00:11:51Stop! Your time is over.
00:11:53Don't get caught.
00:11:56Did somebody take my...
00:11:59Oh great, we're that tribe.
00:12:02It wasn't a nice feeling to see that the other team
00:12:04took most of our good stuff.
00:12:06We all got back to the mats and see that
00:12:09we had hardly anything there.
00:12:11There was definitely a bit of a blow.
00:12:12They looked pretty smug.
00:12:14You can do it, guys!
00:12:20I actually saw Isabel come along and grab some stuff.
00:12:22And I thought, maybe they've just got it on the wrong mat.
00:12:25I cannot believe that I didn't react.
00:12:28Guffers.
00:12:30They stole our back thing.
00:12:32Did they take the back thing?
00:12:34I didn't see what she was doing, but it sounded like
00:12:37she stole quite a lot from the other mat.
00:12:41They got a good haul.
00:12:45I feel a little bit bad for the other side
00:12:47because they had nothing.
00:12:52I feel a little bit bad for the other side
00:12:54because they had nothing.
00:13:08Ogaton, looking like the clear winners in this game.
00:13:11Yeah.
00:13:12Tony, what was the game plan?
00:13:14Everyone going hell for leather to get what they could get.
00:13:16I could not believe when I looked down
00:13:18how much gear there was on that mat.
00:13:20I looked at the other tribe and I was going,
00:13:22oh, I know which tribe I'm going to be in.
00:13:27And Isabel.
00:13:33Playing the game early.
00:13:35Well, it's a strategy and this is a game
00:13:37and I did what I could.
00:13:39I read between the lines.
00:13:41I'm not a bitter person, but no,
00:13:43actually I'm a very bitter person.
00:13:45I'm not happy at all. I'm pretty pissed off.
00:13:47Maybe we should give them a knife.
00:13:50Dee, is this how you wanted to start this game?
00:13:52We're here to play Survivor.
00:13:54I've got a pot. I'm good.
00:13:56At one point we'll get fire.
00:13:58You always end up with fire.
00:14:00I've got a good team. I've got a squished melon.
00:14:03I'm all right.
00:14:05All right, guys, grab your loot.
00:14:07Set up camp for the first time.
00:14:09Ogaton, you're going that way.
00:14:14Here's a map to your camp.
00:14:16Hamosa, you're going that-a-way.
00:14:21I also want you to start thinking about
00:14:23tonight's first tribal council
00:14:25and who you'll be voting out of this tribe.
00:14:27See you at tribal.
00:14:29Can I just say one thing?
00:14:31I feel bad if you don't have a knife.
00:14:33So I'll give you a knife.
00:14:35Got one. Take it.
00:14:37No, no, no.
00:14:39Grab that knife, too.
00:14:41I didn't want to take it.
00:14:43The whole principle of if you're going to steal
00:14:45you've got to live with the consequences
00:14:47of looking like a bit of a villain.
00:14:49Isabel, what was that about?
00:14:51I think a knife is essential,
00:14:53and if you didn't have that,
00:14:55I couldn't imagine going into the bush without one.
00:14:57Isabel, you're being nice right off the bat.
00:14:59Yeah.
00:15:01I'm confused by your strategy.
00:15:03Well, I have morals,
00:15:05and I have a moral compass as well,
00:15:07and so, you know, I feel bad for them as well.
00:15:10It is a game at the end of the day,
00:15:12and it was just part of the strategy.
00:15:14Yeah.
00:15:25Awesome, mate, isn't that a beach?
00:15:27This is wicked!
00:15:29A little point break over there, Tom?
00:15:32Yeah, mate.
00:15:36This is our home for the next however long, guys.
00:15:38Whoo-hoo!
00:15:40When we were walking together, we were all really stoked,
00:15:43and we were running, and we were just carrying all our goods,
00:15:45and we were looking out in the ocean,
00:15:47and you see these pelicans,
00:15:49and you realise,
00:15:51we're not in South Auckland anymore.
00:15:53Oh, yeah, yeah.
00:15:55Nice!
00:15:57Whoo-hoo!
00:15:59And as soon as we saw our flag,
00:16:01we knew, oh, this is home base.
00:16:03Yeah, it's sunken. We're here.
00:16:05One, two, three.
00:16:07Monaghan!
00:16:09Whoo-hoo!
00:16:11We'll just sit over here in the shade,
00:16:13and we'll just get out of the asylum, and we'll have a quick chat,
00:16:15and then we'll get into it.
00:16:17You can leave all your gear here.
00:16:21OK, guys, just a suggestion.
00:16:23I've got a bit of experience working in a bush like this,
00:16:25how to set up a camp, toilet, and all the rest of it,
00:16:27but we're a team,
00:16:29and I think if we play together, everybody's got an input,
00:16:31and a bit of a say on what goes on, eh?
00:16:33Old Koro, Matua Tony.
00:16:35Yeah, man, he's the man, eh?
00:16:37He's got a lot of experience, man, a lot of knowledge,
00:16:39and he's not shy to share it.
00:16:41Just remember, when you're working around in this environment,
00:16:43although it may look open,
00:16:45every time you go to touch something,
00:16:47give it a bit of a kick, or find yourself a stick,
00:16:49and give it a bit of a shuffle,
00:16:51because there's always going to be something around,
00:16:53and more so when it gets dark.
00:16:55I don't mind being a leader at all.
00:16:57I do have a considerable amount of experience,
00:16:59and I will use that in every way I can
00:17:01to benefit this tribe.
00:17:03They see me as valuable.
00:17:05That's part of my plan anyway.
00:17:07Just extra body on the ground.
00:17:09If we can all just have a look around the general area,
00:17:11and we'll just bring it all in here,
00:17:13and then we'll see what we've got,
00:17:15and figure out what we're going to build, eh?
00:17:17The first thing that I noticed about the tribe members
00:17:19is that a lot of people are standoffish,
00:17:21and I'm wondering if it's because of Tony being so direct.
00:17:23As soon as we walk in,
00:17:25he knew what he thought we needed to do,
00:17:27who was in charge,
00:17:29and so we kind of let it happen.
00:17:31Yeah, if you look at some of that stuff,
00:17:33it's a bit rotten.
00:17:35Give it a good kick first, eh?
00:17:39Tony, were you thinking just to build
00:17:41an actual structure in this little area here?
00:17:43Yeah.
00:17:45I don't mind Tony taking a leadership role
00:17:47in this tribe.
00:17:49It kind of takes the focus off me a little bit, I guess.
00:17:59Could you take it, yeah,
00:18:01onto that one?
00:18:03Yeah.
00:18:23OK, guys, we need to site the toilet
00:18:25away from our camp,
00:18:27but not too far away that, you know,
00:18:29if the girls want to come down here,
00:18:31they're not going to find it.
00:18:33They're way off in the bush, and they get lost,
00:18:35and maybe get bitten by something.
00:18:37So I think we'll use this initially.
00:18:39We'll dig one here.
00:18:41I mean, we'll dig it deep enough for about two or three days,
00:18:43so you probably want a hole about,
00:18:45say, two feet deep.
00:18:47Sweet. I'll go get a machete.
00:18:51I mean, Tony's here because he loves it.
00:18:53So I think he's here for the experience.
00:18:55So I don't see him as a huge threat.
00:18:57Yeah, I want to try and, you know,
00:18:59site it.
00:19:01Still keep him close.
00:19:03I've got stuff to learn off a dude like that.
00:19:05He's cool.
00:19:11How's the loo going, Tom?
00:19:13Just clearing it out.
00:19:15Have you talked to Lou?
00:19:17Not really.
00:19:19I think we've all agreed on Hannah.
00:19:21My biggest concern
00:19:23going into tribal would be that
00:19:25we get blindsided.
00:19:27I don't know these people yet, and there's always going to be
00:19:29doubt, but this first day,
00:19:31there's a lot of doubt.
00:19:33I want to kill it, so we can have it for our dinner.
00:19:37I don't want it to claw me.
00:19:39It might just claw onto your stick, and then you can carry it.
00:19:47I caught a dinner!
00:19:49Yeah.
00:19:51It's more like an entree, eh?
00:19:53Yeah.
00:19:55Tom was just like...
00:19:57I'm really impressed with the way you just, like,
00:19:59were bossing that challenge. You just, like,
00:20:01throwing your body on there, and you're looking pretty strong.
00:20:03I was like, bro, I told you I was a powerlifter,
00:20:05and you just immediately wrote me off,
00:20:07and like, fat girl, you're not going to be strong.
00:20:09You're going to be the weakling.
00:20:11My immediate reaction with voting
00:20:13would be Tom.
00:20:15I think he could be quite dangerous,
00:20:17so I'm a little bit worried what he could do.
00:20:19He was part of an alliance.
00:20:21He was one that was naturally created
00:20:23before the tribes were announced.
00:20:25Yeah.
00:20:27First person on my hit list is Tom.
00:20:29I mean, I have to say it, he's a threat,
00:20:31because I know he has some strong people
00:20:33that he's quite close with from the other tribes.
00:20:35You have to look out for people
00:20:37who might potentially send you home,
00:20:39and he's one of those people.
00:20:41But I just really think Tom,
00:20:43just because, to me, he seems unpredictable.
00:20:45Like, you don't know what side he's on.
00:20:47Yeah.
00:20:49He's a real decent guy,
00:20:51but in terms of strategy...
00:20:53Yeah.
00:20:55I will be voting for Tom tonight,
00:20:57because I don't find him 100% trustworthy.
00:20:59Well, are you OK with that?
00:21:01As long as you don't turn around
00:21:03and vote me off, for sure.
00:21:05No, like, 100%.
00:21:07OK, I'm good with it.
00:21:09Tom has to go, and Izzy and Hannah agree.
00:21:11Guys, we have to come back or something.
00:21:13Otherwise, it just wasn't dodgy.
00:21:19Bro, bro, bro, coming through.
00:21:21Oh, there's gonna be a mean fire by the time we're done.
00:21:23Right here.
00:21:25You're insane, eh?
00:21:27Woo-hoo!
00:21:29Oh, my God, look at this.
00:21:31Oh, yeah, yeah.
00:21:33Look at you.
00:21:35My greatest strength to this tribe would be my strength,
00:21:37so I was picking up boulders and...
00:21:39Not boulders, but really big rocks
00:21:41and bringing them over.
00:21:43I'd like to say it was a boulder.
00:21:45I'm like, this is Hannah's pile.
00:21:47Oh, it actually is.
00:21:49I think Hannah is strong as hell,
00:21:51mentally and physically.
00:21:53She's really tough.
00:21:55I just know that there's a lot
00:21:57of very physical group challenges
00:21:59coming up, and no team wants
00:22:01to be slowed down at all.
00:22:03So, basically,
00:22:05me,
00:22:07Izzy and Hannah
00:22:09have discussed
00:22:11voting Tom out.
00:22:13Just because, like, he's an easy threat.
00:22:15Yeah, I think both
00:22:17Avi and Tom
00:22:19on the same page.
00:22:21You're thinking of Hannah as well.
00:22:23Avi's saying Hannah
00:22:25because of the challenges.
00:22:27That's a surprise to me, because she's part of my original
00:22:29alliance. I'm not very happy
00:22:31with this new development.
00:22:33Tom's just sitting around, drawing up
00:22:35Isabel because he didn't
00:22:37like how she just gave him the vote.
00:22:39He didn't like how what? How she gave way up.
00:22:41She didn't say...
00:22:43I think Tom's feeling the pressure and maybe
00:22:45in desperation is trying to
00:22:47point the finger at somebody else.
00:22:49She's already thinking past
00:22:51now.
00:22:53I think that we should stick to the plan because
00:22:55Tom's an absolute threat.
00:22:57But, ultimately, my most solid alliance
00:22:59would be Osama. That's kind of what I'm going with
00:23:01right now.
00:23:03So,
00:23:05Hannah or Izzy or Hannah?
00:23:07What do you think?
00:23:09I'm scared.
00:23:13I'm just waiting for her name
00:23:15because I don't know where the numbers are.
00:23:17I think we should lock one in so we don't keep
00:23:19talking about it so we can get work done.
00:23:21I don't know if you guys realise, but Hannah's been doing a lot
00:23:23more work than Izzy.
00:23:25I think she's just properly
00:23:27proving herself.
00:23:29That's the point of it.
00:23:31So, Tom either wants Hannah
00:23:33out or Izzy out, which makes me a horrible person.
00:23:35I want to be
00:23:37the good person that does the decent thing
00:23:39and then I want to be a
00:23:41survivor. So, you almost can't play
00:23:43the two at the same time. Just let me know.
00:23:45Let me know.
00:24:11Hey guys,
00:24:13before we start dragging
00:24:15somewhere, can we pick the somewhere?
00:24:17So, where's home?
00:24:19Closer to the beach. Don't want to be too far in here.
00:24:21I was going to say, you've got to pick a site.
00:24:23So, do we reckon
00:24:25just over here so it's quiet?
00:24:27Like just behind our flag?
00:24:29Yep.
00:24:31So, there goes that.
00:24:33My preparation for Survivor
00:24:35didn't start the day that I found out
00:24:37I was going to be a survivor.
00:24:39It started the day that I found out
00:24:41Survivor was coming to New Zealand.
00:24:43So, I got to the point where I could run,
00:24:45I could swim, I was juggling.
00:24:47I was standing on one foot.
00:24:49I have held my arm up in the air
00:24:51for as long as I possibly can.
00:24:53And I
00:24:55started meditating and thinking
00:24:57about how I was going to act nice
00:24:59and how I was going to convince people
00:25:01that I was a pleasant person.
00:25:03Have either of you thought at all that
00:25:05maybe it wasn't the best idea for three of us
00:25:07to go off and leave five behind?
00:25:09Risky.
00:25:11No, I think if we're worried about that
00:25:13then it's us three and try and get two more in.
00:25:15That's going to...
00:25:17I think Barb
00:25:19surely would want to come with the girls
00:25:21but who knows.
00:25:23But do we want to hold girl alive?
00:25:25No, because the boys will never flip.
00:25:27They'll just try and grab one of us.
00:25:29So, do we want to hold her?
00:25:31They'll just try and grab one of us.
00:25:33So what do you reckon?
00:25:35I do want to rush
00:25:37into an alliance straight away.
00:25:39As soon as I got to camp, I was looking around at my tribe
00:25:41thinking, alright, come on
00:25:43who can I trust?
00:25:45Dee has spoken to Shannon and I
00:25:47but I'm a little bit wary of her at this point
00:25:49so I'm not sure how I am feeling about
00:25:51Dee.
00:25:53The sex appeal, you two need to get
00:25:55in a couple of boys.
00:25:57I don't know how well that's going to work.
00:25:59I'm just not too sure about Dee.
00:26:01I trust Georgia.
00:26:03I'm not sure how much I can trust
00:26:05Dee at this point.
00:26:07We'll talk to you later.
00:26:09We'll find a time.
00:26:11Someone like that, I don't know whether I do want to have them
00:26:13in my alliance right from the get go.
00:26:15It's just going to add a whole other level
00:26:17of paranoia to the game.
00:26:30We have to get Dee off, eh?
00:26:32Is anyone else thinking that?
00:26:34Yep.
00:26:36I'm hoping to get Michael on my side.
00:26:38I think he would be an awesome alliance.
00:26:40He looks very fit
00:26:42and I think he
00:26:44is quite bright as well
00:26:46so I think he's quite an all-rounded player.
00:26:48We went off and Shannon was like
00:26:50oh my god, we've left all those guys
00:26:52behind themselves together, this is not good.
00:26:55I'm definitely
00:26:57probably going to keep my eye on Georgia
00:26:59a little bit I think.
00:27:01I can definitely see her giving those eyes to Mike.
00:27:03I don't know what's going to happen there
00:27:05but I've definitely just got to be wary of that.
00:27:16I don't like villains.
00:27:18You don't like what?
00:27:20Villains.
00:27:22I don't like the villain.
00:27:24I was like, alright, you're out.
00:27:26I don't want someone around Cam who's going to start...
00:27:28Do you know what I mean?
00:27:30Yep.
00:27:34I'm a man of my word.
00:27:36You're a man of your word.
00:27:38Yep.
00:27:40So I was thinking, me, you, Shannon and Georgia
00:27:42teamed up
00:27:44because
00:27:46you seem like a very honest person
00:27:48and
00:27:50you might as well have us four teamed up.
00:27:54Yeah, ideally final four.
00:27:58So yeah, have a think about that proposition.
00:28:00So I'm a senior sergeant with the police.
00:28:02I've spoken to people for nearly
00:28:0420 years who've been not telling me the truth.
00:28:06One of the skill sets that I'll have
00:28:08that the others won't have will be
00:28:10picking up on the little cues and
00:28:12vibes and mannerisms around
00:28:14what they do versus what they say.
00:28:21And we'll keep those long
00:28:23because we can weave those.
00:28:25I think we should do D
00:28:27because she's a ****.
00:28:29100% ****ster.
00:28:31I really know very little about D
00:28:33but I just looked at her and I thought
00:28:35you're going to be in a bit of trouble
00:28:37further down.
00:28:39Nathan's coming now.
00:28:41You've got to kind of watch how he is.
00:28:43He's thinking we're just going to get voted off
00:28:45because we're old.
00:28:47So don't play on that with him.
00:28:49I am concerned at this stage.
00:28:51I'm the old man of the tribe.
00:28:53There's Barb obviously who's on that
00:28:55same 40-50 age bracket with myself
00:28:57and now we've got five young ones
00:28:59as in their 20s.
00:29:01You could totally weave them into a mat, don't you reckon?
00:29:03We'll need heaps of them but there's quite a few around.
00:29:05Michael's given me his word
00:29:07that he wasn't going to vote me off.
00:29:09If it broke down to four,
00:29:11the four from this tribe were going through.
00:29:13I'm unsure about that.
00:29:16OK, so us three definitely together, right?
00:29:18Yes.
00:29:20One, two, three.
00:29:22We need a fourth.
00:29:24Who do you think?
00:29:26I like Nate.
00:29:28No, no, no.
00:29:30The old people, they already were going to target you two.
00:29:32I heard.
00:29:34They were going to target one
00:29:36because they thought you guys were getting too close.
00:29:38I think I made a mistake.
00:29:40I already went to Nate and was like,
00:29:42hey man, you're the man.
00:29:44I don't think that's a good idea.
00:29:46I can ask three.
00:29:48Yeah, for sure.
00:29:58What are you thinking tonight?
00:30:02I think I'm thinking the same thing as everyone else
00:30:04which is, as long as it's not me.
00:30:06Is there an idea getting thrown around?
00:30:08Well, it's the way it's busy.
00:30:10Yeah, yeah.
00:30:12I think it is.
00:30:14The only person that probably wouldn't do that is Nate.
00:30:16But I think it's all about
00:30:18the first couple of challenges and stuff.
00:30:20It's about strength.
00:30:22She's lovely and she's mummy
00:30:24but I don't need a mum.
00:30:26I need someone who can
00:30:28win.
00:30:30She's lovely and she's mummy
00:30:32but I don't need a mum.
00:30:34I need someone who can
00:30:36win.
00:31:01So I just wanted to throw you in
00:31:03real quick with what's happening.
00:31:09And this absolutely sucks
00:31:11but I just wanted to see...
00:31:13Oh, are we changing?
00:31:15Well, I'm just telling you where everyone else is going
00:31:17and basically they're all going for the same thing.
00:31:26I'm like tossing out like
00:31:28because everyone thinks
00:31:30Hannah's really weak and everything
00:31:32and I could see that.
00:31:34I could definitely see that but she is very strong
00:31:36and she is helping out
00:31:38but I don't know, like
00:31:40people see her as the weaker player.
00:31:42But then Tom, he's...
00:31:44I don't know if he's actually that strong
00:31:46and then...
00:31:48He hasn't done anything
00:31:50strong to show us, you know what I mean?
00:31:52He doesn't look that strong and then
00:31:54I don't trust him.
00:31:56I think he's someone that's
00:31:58going to switch on you really quickly.
00:32:00It's getting closer to voting time
00:32:02and I haven't really talked to Hannah
00:32:04or Shea again
00:32:06and I'm getting a little bit suspicious
00:32:08because they have been going off
00:32:10with other people and doing things and I'm just
00:32:12wondering.
00:32:18Everything is ultimately
00:32:20just going to get us to win.
00:32:22So far, so good.
00:32:26Always paranoid of
00:32:28what other people are seeing.
00:32:32We can't do this again.
00:32:34Walk off then. Yep.
00:32:36A couple in Survivor is dangerous
00:32:38and so
00:32:40if they view us to be a strong
00:32:42couple,
00:32:44one of us is going to be on the chopping block.
00:32:46I don't feel safe heading into travel.
00:32:48I mean,
00:32:50who knows what could happen.
00:32:54No one is giving a clear
00:32:56number. There's no
00:32:58majority vote yet.
00:33:02So, so nervous.
00:33:04I'm hoping I'm in a good position
00:33:06but my heart is absolutely
00:33:08pounding.
00:33:10I'm so nervous.
00:33:12I'm so nervous.
00:33:14My heart is absolutely pounding.
00:33:20Being discussed and I feel
00:33:22I have almost been instructed
00:33:24to vote a certain way.
00:33:44Welcome
00:33:56to Tribal Council.
00:34:02In this game, fire
00:34:04represents life. Once your
00:34:06fire is gone, you are gone
00:34:08from this tribe.
00:34:10Day one of Survivor New Zealand
00:34:12will be gone.
00:34:16Tom,
00:34:18how would you feel if that was you?
00:34:20I'd feel rough.
00:34:22We're a long way from home. It's a big trip
00:34:24to make and then to go back so early.
00:34:26It'd be rough.
00:34:28Louisa,
00:34:30do you think there's any game playing going on
00:34:32already, day one of Survivor New Zealand?
00:34:34People are talking
00:34:36and going off, discussing
00:34:38who they think or what weaknesses
00:34:40people have. We hardly know each other.
00:34:42You don't even get to spend a night
00:34:44on the island and you've got to send
00:34:46one of your team members home.
00:34:48And it's not
00:34:50a nice feeling.
00:34:54Hannah, day one, how difficult
00:34:56is it to vote someone out of this
00:34:58game when you've just met each other?
00:35:00It's hard.
00:35:02Hard. This is a hard game.
00:35:04It is. You're here to play it?
00:35:06Yeah, man.
00:35:08I've got things to prove.
00:35:10What have you got
00:35:12to prove?
00:35:14People often look at
00:35:16me and just think,
00:35:18here's a pretty girl in a dress that does her hair and makeup.
00:35:20She can't pull her weight, but
00:35:22I was out there lifting massive rocks.
00:35:24You know, pulling all my power lifting
00:35:26skills into play.
00:35:28You can't judge a book by
00:35:30a cover. I've got a lot to prove.
00:35:32What are you looking for
00:35:34in a good tribe member?
00:35:36Someone who's got my back.
00:35:38Do you trust everyone?
00:35:40Yes, to an extent.
00:35:42At the end of the day, it comes down to
00:35:44it's in a game.
00:35:46Things can happen, people can turn.
00:35:52Avi, you got Hannah's back?
00:35:56I mean, you can't really have
00:35:58everyone's back.
00:36:00I don't know who's got
00:36:02my back, I don't know who's back I've got yet.
00:36:04It's day one, it's still so,
00:36:06so early.
00:36:10Anyone emerging as a leader?
00:36:12If anyone, I'd have to say
00:36:14old Tony here. He's had a wealth
00:36:16of experience building and he really
00:36:18knows his stuff. I think we all listen and
00:36:20respect his opinion.
00:36:22Tony, do you feel
00:36:24like you're a leader?
00:36:26Yeah, I think I am.
00:36:28But they've got a great bunch of people
00:36:30here, you know, I think some of them have been
00:36:32biting their lip a bit, but they can see
00:36:34what I'm trying to get at, which is good.
00:36:36You think some of this tribe are biting their lip
00:36:38and dealing with you?
00:36:40Yeah, I think maybe one or
00:36:42two. I mean, I expected that.
00:36:44I didn't want to come on too strong because we are
00:36:46a team.
00:36:48Tony, what are your weak points?
00:36:50I've got a few.
00:36:52I've got a very dark
00:36:54sense of humour and some people are going to appreciate
00:36:56it. It could be my downfall,
00:36:58I guess, but this is Survivor,
00:37:00anything can happen, probably we'll
00:37:02deal with it. Have alliances been
00:37:04formed today?
00:37:10Yes.
00:37:16Who's playing this game
00:37:18with honour? Any of you?
00:37:20Salah?
00:37:22I'd like to think I'm
00:37:24a man of integrity, so I want to
00:37:26be as honest
00:37:28as possible.
00:37:30How did you feel about Isabel
00:37:32pilfering the other tribe's loot?
00:37:34Oh, you know,
00:37:36sometimes
00:37:38you've got to do what you've got to do in order to survive.
00:37:40Isabel,
00:37:42you probably delivered
00:37:44the lion's share of the loot in today's challenge.
00:37:46Are you feeling safe?
00:37:48No, I'm not.
00:37:50Why not? Because I think some people
00:37:52disagree with me giving the knife away.
00:37:54Does anyone think that?
00:37:56I personally don't think it was a wrong
00:37:58decision.
00:38:00Anyone can see it as a weak
00:38:02decision.
00:38:06Guys,
00:38:08100k up
00:38:10for grabs. Any of you
00:38:12want to say anything before
00:38:14we vote someone out tonight?
00:38:16We've got to make it there as a team first
00:38:18to get that 100k,
00:38:20so that's all I have to say
00:38:22about that. A team
00:38:24who has to vote someone out.
00:38:26It is
00:38:28time for each tribe member
00:38:30to vote out the person they
00:38:32want to see leave.
00:38:34Louisa, you're up first.

00:39:20I'll go tell him the votes.
00:39:22Once the votes are read the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave
00:39:36the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes. First vote, Hannah. Second
00:39:51vote, Hannah. That's two votes, Hannah. Izzy. Two votes, Hannah. One vote, Izzy. Hannah.
00:40:07Three votes, Hannah. One vote, Izzy. Hannah. Four votes, Hannah. One vote, Izzy. First
00:40:19person voted out of Mogoton is Hannah. You need to bring me your torch. Hannah, the tribe
00:40:36has spoken. It's time for you to go. Mogoton tribe, Hannah did have a final plea for you.
00:41:00She said don't judge a book by its cover. Maybe you've just done that. I know today
00:41:06hasn't been easy. Let me tell you, it's not going to get any easier. One more thing, here's
00:41:11some flint. Now you have fire. Grab your stuff, head back to camp. Emosu, your opposition
00:41:18tribe is about to enter. I'm definitely feeling backstabbed. I had an alliance. Obviously
00:41:31it's a game and they're going to do that, but I don't understand what I possibly did
00:41:35to get to where you vote me out.
00:42:03Welcome to Tribal Council. Just like Mogoton before you, you now have to vote out one of
00:42:24your own based on what you've learned about each other in just a few hours. Let's start
00:42:30at the start. Nathan, how do you feel about being outsmarted by your opposition tribe
00:42:36so early in this game?
00:42:38We were robbed, weren't we? We were robbed. We were caught not thinking outside the square
00:42:45and I'm pretty confident as a group that won't be happening again.
00:42:51Georgia, is this tribe too nice?
00:42:54Maybe. We'll have to see sort of what happens further down the track maybe. We're such a
00:43:05nice group of people. I really love this tribe. It's got such a good vibe.
00:43:09You love every single one of them?
00:43:11Yeah, definitely, for sure. I do.
00:43:14I don't believe you.
00:43:17I do. I really do. We're all different and I really am so stoked with this tribe.
00:43:26Shannon, does everyone bring something to the table in this tribe?
00:43:30Yeah, absolutely. I mean, everyone definitely has their own strengths and we're only just
00:43:34starting to see that on day one. It's like the worst thing in the world to be here and
00:43:39to have to get rid of one of us when we've only just got started. I mean, it really,
00:43:43really hits you.
00:43:45Can you imagine how the opposition tribe, the perhaps winning tribe, must be feeling
00:43:49right now? They had to do the same thing.
00:43:51Yeah, but I don't think too kindly of them at the moment, so I'm not too worried about
00:43:56that.
00:43:56Why is that?
00:43:57Oh, just the start. I mean, I didn't realise it was heroes versus villains from day one.
00:44:04Now we know what game we're playing. This is Survivor, anything goes.
00:44:15You came out of the blocks firing, being more than happy to label yourself as the villain.
00:44:20How's your tribe reacted to that?
00:44:23I'm not sure that I labelled myself a villain. You asked the question,
00:44:27if it would mean that you would succeed, would anyone be happy being the villain?
00:44:33I said, if and maybe and succeed, I said, yes.
00:44:37I did not put my hand up and say, boom, I'm the villain.
00:44:40How much strategy has been going on in this tribe, Lee?
00:44:49There's definitely been some discussions going around camp. Just going to just wait and see
00:44:54what transpires from all the discussions, I guess, that went on today.
00:44:58Does it feel like there have been some alliances formed?
00:45:01Oh, to some degree there might, but not obvious if there is.
00:45:07Is it obvious to anyone else? D?
00:45:10It's day one. You don't know **** on day one.
00:45:15You made your intentions very clear right from the start. How safe are you feeling?
00:45:20I would hope that I don't have anything to worry about.
00:45:23Doesn't mean that I'm not sitting here feeling my heart throbbing.
00:45:31Michael, have you seen much game playing?
00:45:34Yeah, there's been a bit. It's just been going around
00:45:40while they're working, talking to each other. So, yeah.
00:45:47OK, it is time to vote. D, you're up first.
00:46:03D, you're an awesome girl, but this is a tribe of heroes, and you're a villain.
00:46:33I'll go tally the votes.
00:46:48Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked
00:46:52to leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll read the votes.
00:46:56First vote, D.
00:47:04Second vote, D.
00:47:10Third vote, D again.
00:47:19Barb, three votes D, one vote Barb.
00:47:27D, four votes D, one vote Barb.
00:47:37First person voted out of the Vimosa tribe, D, you need to bring me your torch.
00:47:47D, the tribe has spoken.
00:48:00It's time for you to go.
00:48:05Day one of Survivor New Zealand and already a massive blindside. I did not see that one coming.
00:48:22Michael, here's some flint for your fire.
00:48:27Head back to camp.
00:48:28I'm feeling **** full stop. I was the first person voted out of the Vimosa tribe.
00:48:39I was associated with being a villain, and I'm not one of the older, mature,
00:48:45mumsy-dadsy type, and I'm also not one of the young, beautiful types either.
00:48:50I'm me. I'm Deanna.
00:49:20I felt sick. I felt so sick just from nerves that whole time.
00:49:31And it's going to feel like that every single time.
00:49:36Ready?
00:49:41Did it burn through a bit?
00:49:46Okay, you ready?
00:49:50Ready?
00:49:54There you go.
00:49:55Oh my god, oh my god.
00:49:55Come on.
00:49:56She's a wire, it's a wire, it's a wire, it's a wire.
00:49:58Keep going, stop on this.
00:50:16Can you just get a stick and hold this over here, mate?
00:50:19Coming back to camp after tribal, the priority was to get a fire going,
00:50:23lift morale a bit, and also provide a valuable source of light.
00:50:28Everyone's down.
00:50:30Wild Hannah, you know, you never would have seen it coming.
00:50:33She didn't do anything wrong.
00:50:37I definitely did not want to vote for Hannah because I'm someone that I was actually
00:50:42pretty good friends with.
00:50:44I guess the thought of having gone against that, yeah, I mean.
00:50:49It's not a good feeling.
00:50:54I'm good at cooking, right?
00:51:00Just let us know if you want to swap.
00:51:08I could try.
00:51:20So
00:51:40after our first night in the jungle, I have not slept at all.
00:51:45I'm a little bit concerned that we have a full day ahead of us and I have no sleep under my
00:51:49belt.
00:51:52Our shelter is a little bit small, so hoping we can expand on that today.
00:51:59I think if you just lay them so the spine goes on top of the poles,
00:52:03that should make the numbers, you know?
00:52:06I don't think we've got room for seven that way.
00:52:09One's going to have to lie horizontal.
00:52:12What I'm expecting today is that we'll modify our shelter,
00:52:15then we're going to look to try and put a roof on there.
00:52:17We've got to establish a toilet site,
00:52:19and we're going to just keep bringing in that firewood because that fire is pretty important.
00:52:25It's the best thing we've caught.
00:52:26I'm pretty sure that's like straight up rotten, eh?
00:52:29You don't want to eat it?
00:52:31I mean, give it a go, but I just don't.
00:52:35I'm pretty like high maintenance.
00:52:36I can't eat disgusting food.
00:52:38I can do fresh fruit at a push, but definitely not rotten fruit.
00:52:43Can I just pop it and then squeeze the juices out?
00:52:46That's what I'm going to do.
00:52:48We still don't know if it's a fruit or a vegetable, or if it's a gourd.
00:52:51Or if it's a dead something.
00:52:53It's like a massive big fish.
00:52:56Diarrhoea or something.
00:52:59The rotten fruit was such a bad idea.
00:53:02I don't know what we were thinking.
00:53:05Well, that's all good.
00:53:07Could be worse.
00:53:09Yeah.
00:53:13Delicious.
00:53:15Easily entertained, eh?
00:53:17I knew it.
00:53:19It was weird.
00:53:19It tasted nice to begin with, and then all of a sudden it just tasted like rot.
00:53:24I don't know why I kept going.
00:53:26I'm just sort of...
00:53:26It was day two and already I'm that desperate that I'm eating this disgusting rotten fruit.
00:53:34It's like you're eating out of a dead body.
00:53:37What a bloody animal, eh?
00:53:39Oh.
00:53:42I'm basically just hoping I don't get incredibly sick at this point.
00:54:01Hey, Izzy.
00:54:03How are you feeling?
00:54:05Better?
00:54:06No.
00:54:07Oh, really?
00:54:08Izzy doesn't seem to be looking too great.
00:54:10So she was throwing up last night.
00:54:12We just need to keep her hydrated.
00:54:13Could be a stomach bug, lack of sleep.
00:54:17She's a pretty girl, but right now she looks like crap.
00:54:21Yeah, right.
00:54:23Would you want to go home or do you not want to?
00:54:27I would want to stay, but I feel like it's almost not up to me.
00:54:31Like my body is telling me.
00:54:33So you don't think you're up to it?
00:54:35I think my body is telling me I'm not up to it.
00:54:38Of course, I don't want Izzy to go home.
00:54:40She's family, you know.
00:54:41She's part of our team and we stick together.
00:54:44And that's who we are, you know.
00:54:45We all got up during the night to go check on her and take turns sitting by her side.
00:54:51Because that's what family does for one another.
00:54:53The best thing we can do is just keep having an ego.
00:54:56Someone give a little bit of encouragement.
00:54:59If you've got a bug or something, or possibly psychological.
00:55:02That's a hard one, eh?
00:55:03That sucks, eh?
00:55:04It really sucks.
00:55:05And it's hard because when you're like in the throes of a sickness,
00:55:09you can't remember what it's like to be well.
00:55:12Well, I guess at the end of the day, it's her choice and we've got to respect it.
00:55:16Yeah, true.
00:55:17Izzy's incredibly sick.
00:55:19It's hard to kind of trust your mental space when you're feeling that rough.
00:55:23I'm sure a huge part of her just wants to call it quits and go home.
00:55:26I know that she really wants to play this game as well.
00:55:29And that it would have to take a lot for her to throw in the towel.
00:55:35They really voted us the wrong person.
00:55:38If you want to win in Survivor, you have to take the knocks along the way.
00:55:42Isabelle would probably be looked upon now as the weak link.
00:55:45She can't even stand up.
00:55:47You know, anything could happen in half an hour from now.
00:55:49We could have a challenge on and she can't even stand up.
00:55:52And I know that I did make the wrong decision.
00:55:55It should have been Izzy that should have gone home.
00:56:06Oh, crap.
00:56:35Challenge invite.
00:56:37As you've noticed by now, this game is full of surprises.
00:56:39And like a song or a hymn, expect some reprises.
00:56:43But what lies ahead now is not a verse or passage repeated.
00:56:47It's an opportunity to reinstate what once was deleted.
00:56:52What?
00:57:06We'll probably have like a little bite to eat soon.
00:57:09Shelter's looking awesome.
00:57:11I think tonight we'll like eat something.
00:57:15We'll sleep well.
00:57:17I think we'll all kind of really bounce back.
00:57:19Yeah, so Izzy's feeling a little bit better.
00:57:21She said to me, even if she pulls through,
00:57:24if it comes to us losing a challenge in Tribal,
00:57:26then she'll talk to us.
00:57:28It's just about voting her out so she can go home.
00:57:35What will happen in the challenge?
00:57:38Who knows?
00:57:39After day one, anything can happen.
00:57:41Forget about last night.
00:57:42Forget about yesterday.
00:57:43We go in there today and all we want to do is obliterate the opposition.
00:58:00Come on in, guys.
00:58:06Take a seat over there, guys.
00:58:14Both teams getting a look at the new tribes.
00:58:17Hannah and Dee voted out at last night's Tribal Councils.
00:58:20I can do this one, mate.
00:58:21You know, you've got to be good at tying tight knots.
00:58:31And come on in, guys.
00:58:35I feel like absolute **** when I see Hannah walk out.
00:58:51I looked her straight in the eye, but obviously people are very embarrassed.
00:58:54Here's a lovely girl you blindsided last night.
00:58:58They look really angry and they should.
00:59:01I mean, I'd be just as angry if I was voted off and had to walk in and see my tribe again.
00:59:08Welcome to Redemption Island.
00:59:16Some of you might have caught on yesterday when I said Hannah and Dee's time in the tribe was up,
00:59:20but I didn't say they were out of this game.
00:59:24Redemption Island offers an opportunity to duel your way back into this competition.
00:59:30Tribe members voted out come here to Redemption Island
00:59:33to live with whoever's waiting for them before the two duel in this arena.
00:59:39No one saw it coming at all,
00:59:40which definitely doesn't say much for the brain capacity of the people around this tribe.
00:59:44Lose the duel and you are gone for good.
00:59:47Win and you live to fight another duel.
00:59:50Survive an isolated life on the island,
00:59:53survive your duels,
00:59:54and eventually one of you will get an opportunity to re-enter this game
01:00:00and another shot at the $100,000.
01:00:05Redemption Island, for me, it's incredible.
01:00:09It gives you another shot, you know,
01:00:11the chance to be able to actually earn your right back into the game.
01:00:17So, Shayna, how are you feeling after voting Hannah out last night?
01:00:20I think we'd be a lot better off if we got her back,
01:00:22whether she's keen to come back or not.
01:00:24I think a lot of us are feeling pretty stink about our decisions.
01:00:29So, if we have the opportunity, we'll take it.
01:00:33Heartbeat.
01:00:36Words don't always mean everything.
01:00:38Hannah, who do you think was behind your axing at Tribal Council?
01:00:43No comment.
01:00:47Dee, what's it like walking into this arena
01:00:49and facing everyone who voted you out last night?
01:00:52I think it's probably just as scary for them to face us
01:00:56as it is for us to face them.
01:00:58Well, your duel is about to start
01:01:00and something tells me this challenge is going to be a cracker.
01:01:19For today's duel, you're going to use ropes and sticks to make a long pole.
01:01:25You're going to use that pole to retrieve three keys.
01:01:28Those three keys open three locks.
01:01:32The first person through the door stays alive in this game.
01:01:37Take your spots. Let's get ready to start.
01:01:39Survivors ready. Go.
01:01:54This challenge is on.
01:01:57Dee with some interesting strategy,
01:01:58while Hannah is just going for gold, tying knots.
01:02:02A lot of strategy involved in this challenge.
01:02:05Hannah thinks her pole is long enough to get that first key.
01:02:09Yep, yep, yep. Perfect, perfect.
01:02:12Hannah secures her first key before Dee even has a knot tied.
01:02:17Come on, Dee, just concentrate.
01:02:19Dee making one long pole.
01:02:21If this strategy works, she could get three keys in quick succession.
01:02:24But she has to keep moving.
01:02:27Good.
01:02:29Hannah thinks she can get her second key.
01:02:31Yep, yep, yep, yep.
01:02:32Dee falling behind.
01:02:33Hannah's pole is long enough, but is it strong enough?
01:02:38Hannah with her second key, working on her third key.
01:02:43Finally, Dee making an attempt at her first key.
01:02:47Two, one. And just like that, Dee is back in the game.
01:02:52Hannah working on her second lock.
01:02:54You got this. You got this, Hannah.
01:02:56These locks are tricky, but Hannah making it look easy.
01:02:59Go. Reach those longs tight.
01:03:01Reach those longs tight.
01:03:03All that work and Dee's pole was only long enough to retrieve her first key.
01:03:08Dee has to go back and add more bamboo.
01:03:15Dee going back to try and get her second key.
01:03:18Hannah furiously working on her pole.
01:03:21She's got it. Dee on her second key and we're all tied up.
01:03:28Hannah going for a third key.
01:03:30Take it slow.
01:03:31If Hannah can get this key, she can start working on her final lock.
01:03:36Remember, this is do or die.
01:03:42Hannah's got her third key.
01:03:45The knot tying has been good.
01:03:47Dee's got to work hard. She's got to dig it in.
01:03:51This could be it.
01:03:52Hannah just has to get that third lock gun done, but her hands are shaking.
01:03:59Hannah is through the door and lives to fight another day in this competition.
01:04:17Hannah, Dee, that was a great duel.
01:04:20Very different approaches.
01:04:22Hannah, congratulations.
01:04:24How are you feeling right now?
01:04:25I feel pretty good, but it was awesome too to hear the team say,
01:04:27but it was awesome too to hear the team supporting you.
01:04:30You know, a couple of times I was like, but I could hear them yelling my name.
01:04:34So I was like, just calm, think about what I'm doing.
01:04:38Dee, unfortunately, your shot at redemption and the $100,000 is over.
01:04:45What's going through your mind?
01:04:47One thing everyone didn't know is that Survivor's my life.
01:04:51I've watched every episode of every season at least three times.
01:04:54I listen to podcasts for about 40 hours a week.
01:04:57I've listened to about 600 hours of audio books.
01:05:00I follow every blogger.
01:05:03I'm a Survivor super fan.
01:05:10My life has been a Survivor fan.
01:05:13It's just not been a Survivor.
01:05:16Dee, you are the first person eliminated from Survivor New Zealand.
01:05:21Toss your buff in the fire, say your goodbyes.
01:05:23Your time in this game is over.
01:05:28Hannah, one duel down, many more to go if you want to stay alive in this game.
01:05:45How do you feel about heading back to Redemption Island alone tonight?
01:05:49I'll figure it out.
01:05:50There's some good stuff there.
01:05:51I've got myself.
01:05:52I can talk to myself.
01:05:55Yeah, man.
01:05:56Has anyone got any sympathy for Hannah?
01:05:59Sympathy? I don't think she needs sympathy.
01:06:01She's obviously proven herself.
01:06:03And there's a lot of feeling of regret going on around here.
01:06:06Is that common in your tribe?
01:06:09I can only speak for myself.
01:06:10I'm not sure where everyone else is at, but definite feeling of regret.
01:06:13Yep.
01:06:14Salah, do you regret voting Hannah out?
01:06:16I regret voting anyone out.
01:06:18You know, you come together.
01:06:19You're a family.
01:06:20You don't want to vote a family member out.
01:06:22It sucks.
01:06:24But, you know, big ups to Hannah.
01:06:26She's always been a strong chick, and she's proven to all of us.
01:06:30She's dangerous, man.
01:06:31Keep being dangerous, girl.
01:06:33You got this, man.
01:06:36Hannah, you need to head back and await your next opponent and your next duel.
01:06:46Everyone else, grab your stuff and head back to your camps.
01:06:48Look forward to seeing you at the next challenge.
01:06:53Next time on Survivor New Zealand.
01:07:08I just want trust.
01:07:10That's the main thing that I'm after in this game.
01:07:12New deals are on the table at Mogotom.
01:07:15So will you vote Tom out if it comes to it?
01:07:17And new targets are in sight at Omosa.
01:07:20Hypothetically, if we lost immunity tomorrow, me and Mike were thinking Nate.
01:07:25I don't trust Georgia.
01:07:26I don't know why.
01:07:26I just can't quite pin it.
01:07:29For the first time, immunity is up for grabs.
01:07:34I felt that, Michael.
01:07:36And tribes put everything on the line.
01:07:39Run!
01:07:49I came in claiming that I had the most knowledge about the game.
01:07:54At no point during my time here was that disproven.
01:07:58There is nothing in the last few days of my experience of Survivor that I'd do differently.
01:08:03I think that looking back and overthinking it and regretting
01:08:07is just going to drive you bonkers.
