00:24Israel has said it will no longer facilitate Norwegian diplomats to work in Palestine.
00:32Eight diplomats have already had their accreditation revoked by the Israeli Foreign Ministry, which
00:37said it made the decision in response to Norway's alleged anti-Israel conduct, including its
00:43recognition of a Palestinian state.
00:49Norway has called the move an extreme act and said it will have consequences for its
00:54relationship with the Israeli government.
00:58It comes as a Human Rights Watch report found Israeli soldiers killed at least seven Palestinians
01:04and severely wounded two when they attacked a Gaza City home in December.
01:11The family members said there were no militants or weapons inside the house and that the family
01:16had no connection to any armed group.
01:20The Israeli military has not yet responded to the allegations.
01:25Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has called the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran a
01:31flagrant violation of international law, although it has not made a direct reference to Israel.
01:39The statement comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East as fears of a wider regional
01:44war grow.
01:49Ukrainian soldiers have made advances of up to 10 kilometres into the Cusco region after
01:54the third day of an incursion into Russian territory.
01:58According to the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian forces have penetrated at least
02:04two Russian defence lines as fighting continues in the region.
02:10The latest is one of the largest cross-border incursions since the war began in 2022.
02:16Several outlets in Russia report that Ukrainian forces have seized the Suzha checkpoint.
02:22Geolocated imagery posted on August 7 appears to show heavy damage to buildings in the area.
02:29It also shows Ukrainian forces captured over 40 Russian prisoners of war at the checkpoint.
02:35Meanwhile, Russia has confirmed Ukraine's incursion.
02:39According to its defence ministry, the Russian army is attacking Ukrainian combatants who
02:45are trying to advance on the area from Ukraine's Syrme region.
02:50Kyiv has yet to comment on the Cusco region offensive.
02:58A week after his release as part of a prison exchange deal between Russia and Western countries,
03:04Ilya Yashin met his supporters in Berlin.
03:08More than 2,000 people came to meet the Russian opposition activist.
03:13In 2022, he was sentenced to eight and a half years behind bars because he spoke up against
03:19the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
03:38Yashin worked with and was close friend of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny,
03:50who died in a Siberian prison in February.
03:54Many wonder if Yashin could become the new leader of Russian opposition.
04:21Whilst in prison, Yashin got over 30,000 letters and encouraged his supporters to write to
04:27activists who are still behind bars in Russia.
04:52What started these right-wing protests?
05:02Misinformation surrounding the murder of three young girls.
05:13Last night in towns and cities across the UK, though, thousands of anti-fascist protesters
05:19outnumbered right-wing groups.
05:21But the anti-immigrant sentiment has arguably been bubbling under the surface for many years.
05:28It led the Conservative government to propose plans to fly immigrants to migrant camps in
05:34Rwanda and to put them in barges like this one off the coast.
05:38The Labour government has now scrapped these policies, calling them gimmicks and a waste
05:43of taxpayer money.
05:45For now at least, those inside Number 10 will be extremely relieved that anti-fascist
05:50protests have helped quell recent racist unrest.
05:53But the new government now has to pick up the pieces after years of Conservative anti-immigration
05:58rhetoric and failed policies, which ultimately heightened tensions.
06:04All eyes will now be on the Prime Minister and how he chooses to navigate this political
06:09tightrope.
06:10There is a difference between responsible politicians and irresponsible politicians.
06:14Dr Nigel Fletcher is a former adviser to Prime Minister David Cameron and believes Labour
06:19must now do what the Conservatives couldn't and take meaningful action around migration.
06:25Labour not only have to solve it, but also solve it in a way that is markedly and demonstrably
06:31different in tone and substance to how the Conservative government were seeking to respond
06:38to it.
06:39Because if they continue with some of the rhetoric and some of the hardline policies
06:44that the previous government has, they will alienate parts of their own party.
06:50The UK government has recently announced plans for a new border security command to tackle
06:55human smuggling gangs.
06:57This reflects the broader European struggle with migration.
07:01As the political landscape evolves, the challenge is to implement effective, humane policies
07:07that appease both sides of the political spectrum.

07:19This is also the case in Barcelona, where many visitors to the city end up leaving without
07:24a phone, wallet, passport or even all three.
07:28Some Spanish citizens say the police are doing too little to combat the issue, so they decided
07:33to take matters into their own hands.
