00:00A report claiming a major leadership reshuffle in the police force won't topple the government.
00:09This is former law minister Zayed Ibrahim's response to the police investigating Malaysia
00:13Kini over the report that two senior officers will be transferred to different agencies.
00:19He said that simply issuing a denial would have sufficed instead of summoning three journalists
00:23from the news portal.
00:25The journalists will have their statements recorded at the Dangwangi Police Headquarters
00:28at 2.30pm today.
00:31On Tuesday, Malaysia Kini's article quoted a police source as saying that Deputy Inspector-General
00:36of Police Ayub Khan Malin Pichai and Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department Director
00:41Shuhaili Zain would be transferred out of the force.
00:44However, Zayed said it was inappropriate to harass journalists over possible criminal
00:49offences related to their reporting, adding that journalists exercise caution and verify
00:53sources to ensure their credibility.
