00:00Lauren, would you like to introduce yourself?
00:02Yes, thank you. Hi there, I'm Lauren. I'm a professional home organiser and I'm based in Apley in Telford.
00:09I operate in Telford and the surrounding areas. I've been doing this for about a year now.
00:14It's my passion to help people and to create homes and spaces that feel beautiful and calming and relaxing.
00:21So if you need any help, please reach out to me and I definitely will be in touch with you.
00:27Would you be able to talk us through the steps when someone's having a house and how it works?
00:33Yes, of course. So the first thing is to take everything out of the cupboards.
00:38Go through everything item by item. Decide what needs to stay and what needs to go.
00:43This can be the difficult part because a lot of people hold on to certain items that they don't really get use out of anymore.
00:52But the best thing to do is to know that that item can be useful to somebody else.
00:57So it can be donated, it can help somebody else and then once we know what is staying and what is going,
01:04we put everything back in an organised system. So we create a system that works for you.
01:11I work together with the clients and we decide what zones to create.
01:16For example, in a kitchen if you need a zone for baking or for cooking or for cleaning products,
01:23then we create those zones, we group items together and then we store the items in a neat way that is manageable and maintainable.
01:32And then once everything is in place, then I do an evaluation about a month later to see if everything is still working for the client.
01:43What are the benefits of having an organised home?
01:46Definitely mental and physical wellbeing. In terms of mental health, when everything is calm and organised, you feel calm and organised as well.
01:56Physical health improves because with a lot of clutter comes a lot of dust, which causes a lot of allergies and stuff like asthma.
02:06And so when there is less clutter, then you feel calmer and your health improves as well.
