00:03That's what the show Koh Lanta brings.
00:05Since its creation in 2001, Koh Lanta has become a pillar of French television.
00:09And it's also a huge cash machine for TF1.
00:12Each episode costs between 700,000 and 1 million euros to produce,
00:15but brings about 2 million to the channel.
00:18For a 30-second advertising spot at the start of a commercial,
00:21brands have to spend nearly 90,000 euros.
00:24In 2019, it was more than 250 people employed,
00:2712 trucks and 11 tons of equipment that were mined
00:30to build the base camp for the technical teams
00:32and to set up the test sites.
00:34After its last season, which ended in early June,
00:37Koh Lanta is already back on August 20th.
00:39This season, shot in the Philippines and entitled La Tribu Maudite,
00:43brings together 24 candidates, including two former winners,
00:46Frédéric, champion in 2023, and Hugo, winner in 2013.
00:50These two emblematic figures will be the leaders of the yellow and red teams.
00:53But for this season, a new threat is on the way.
00:55Throughout the adventure, the candidates will fight to avoid joining La Tribu Maudite,
00:59located on another island where the conditions of survival will be more difficult.
