Strong quake, small tsunamis hit southern Japan

Footage captured by weather cameras show shaking caused by a powerful 7.1 earthquake in southern Japan.

The quake hit at 4:42 p.m. (0742 GMT) off Kyushu at a depth of 25 kilometers (16 miles), according to the United States Geological Survey. No major damage was reported and only relatively minor tsunami waves.
