00:00Good news to the teachers, an additional teaching allowance is about to be implemented.
00:05Because after more than a month of having a law, the Implementing Rules and Regulations for this has already passed.
00:15This is Daniel Vandalasta for Central Nang Balita.
00:20In a crazy coincidence, the lawmakers and the Department of Education
00:26approved the Implementing Rules and Regulations or IRR of Republic Act No. 11997 or better known as the Kabalikad sa Pagtuturo Act.
00:36In addition, the teachers' need for a teaching allowance for those in public education has been met.
00:42Secretary Sani Angara signed the IRR just after being confirmed in the Commission on Appointments.
00:49Under the Implementing Rules, the teachers will receive P5,000 for the school year 2024-2025,
00:56while P10,000 for the following school year 2025-2026 for the teaching allowance.
01:03Who will be included in this? Based on the IRR, the qualified deaf and public school teachers.
01:09Actually, as far as we speak, it should be given. Even without the IRR, it can be given.
01:14Because it is stated in the law that the law is executory even without implementing rules.
01:19According to the Chief Justice and Sponsor of the Law, Senator Bong Revilla,
01:23even though the fight was long, the teachers' need for a teaching allowance is still victorious.
01:28Revilla also promised that this is not the last and there are still many cases to be investigated for the teachers.
01:34Angara was also noticed for the teaching hours of the teachers.
01:39Because the six hours is the maximum. We are also listening to the comments here in the curriculum.
01:46Sometimes, they say that there is no rest. So, it is important that the teacher can rest and not go straight for six hours.
01:53Maybe we will amend the curriculum going forward in line with the criticisms or the comments of the people on the ground.
