Thousands of anti-racism protesters gathered in London on Wednesday (August 7) to challenge expected far-right groups that failed to materialize following more than a week of violent racist attacks targeting Muslims and migrants.

01:04And it started off with small groups on the streets attacking immigrants, or in those days, Jews.
01:11Now, the same types of people are on the streets in this country.
01:16It's absolutely disgraceful.
01:18And I'm standing here against that, with the community here,
01:22to show that we were totally opposed to fascism then, and we're totally opposed to fascism now.
01:28Truly, as you can see today, we really, truly, truly do come together.
01:33We did it before, we'll do it again.
01:36And I'm just worried about the places where this is not happening,
01:42where the people aren't coming out to stop them.
01:44I'm really, truly worried about those other communities.
01:47And feeling really worried about everybody.
01:49Really worried about people's safety, my friends' children's safety.
01:53I've got a lot of people of colour in my network.
01:56I'm worried about the Muslim people, the people of all faiths that are suffering.
