00:00After teaming up in two Deadpool movies, Ryan Reynolds and T.J. Miller definitely aren't
00:05going to work together again.
00:06So what happened between these two former co-stars?
00:09In 2016, Miller appeared alongside Reynolds in the first Deadpool as Weasel, a bar owner
00:14and good friend of Wade Wilson, providing emotional support in the first movie as Wade
00:18goes through a series of pretty terrible events and takes up the mantle as Deadpool.
00:23Miller went on to reprise his role in the 2018 sequel, Deadpool 2, but he made it very
00:27clear that he wouldn't participate in any sequels, and he blamed it squarely on Reynolds.
00:32In a 2022 interview with Adam Carolla, Miller said he wouldn't work with Reynolds again
00:36because he was, quote, "...horrifically mean to him on the set of the first Deadpool during
00:40an improvised in-character moment."
00:42He was like, you know what's great about you, Weasel?
00:44You're not the star, but you just, you know, you do just enough exposition that it's funny
00:49and then we can leave and get back to the real movie."
00:52Ultimately, Miller concluded that his professional relationship with Reynolds was over from that
00:56point on, telling Carolla,
00:57"...I would not work with him again.
00:59I sort of wish him well because he's so good as Deadpool and I think it's weird that he
01:02hates me."
01:03Shortly after the Adam Carolla interview, Miller sat down for a podcast with SiriusXM
01:08hosts Jim Norton and Sam Roberts to clarify something important.
01:12Reynolds reached out to Miller and the two were able to patch things up.
01:15Miller said,
01:16"...We sort of just hashed it out really quickly.
01:18Again, I wasn't saying anything negative.
01:20He is so funny, which I always maintain, and he's so funny in these movies.
01:24So that was kind of it.
01:25He's so funny.
01:26I said all these complimentary things and none of that shows up."
01:29"...And it was, it was a misunderstanding."
01:31At the end of the day, Miller's biggest issue is that he didn't think his original comments
01:35were even that bad, but merely just a weird on-set story he wanted to share.
01:40Miller told the hosts,
01:41"...I feel bad that it was picked up and that it was misconstrued, for sure.
01:44But no, it was the next day.
01:46He and I talked and it's fine."
01:47Unfortunately for Miller, this wouldn't be his last controversy.
01:51After Deadpool 2, the actor and comedian faced a ton of nasty accusations of sexual
01:55impropriety and more inappropriate behavior.
01:58In 2016, Miller settled a lawsuit with the Uber driver he allegedly attacked that year,
02:03and in 2017, the actor's reputation took yet another downward turn.
02:07At the end of that year, a woman accused Miller of a violent sexual assault, and as a result,
02:12Miller was removed from the How to Train Your Dragon franchise.
02:16Then in 2019, he was arrested yet again for calling in a fake bomb threat to an Amtrak
02:21train.
02:22Before all of this happened, he was fired from the HBO comedy Silicon Valley, and creator
02:26Mike Judge later revealed that Miller would often come to work under the influence.
02:30These days, Miller's career is pretty dormant, and it's honestly not hard to see why — and
02:34why he wasn't invited to participate in Deadpool and Wolverine.
02:38If you or anyone you know has been a victim of sexual assault, help is available.
