03:08The majority of the existing wall is from the Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.
03:18The Great Wall has had a number of different functions throughout its history.
03:27It has served as a deterrent to military invasion, a means of border control, and a communication
03:34and transportation corridor.
03:39The Great Wall is also one of the most famous symbols of ancient China and is a popular
03:45tourist destination.
