Battue d'entrée de jeu au WTA 1000 de Toronto, Bianca Andreescu n'a pas maché ses mots en conférence de presse d'après-match. Alors qu'elle avait inscrit les sept premiers jeux de la rencontre et détenait un break dans la deuxième manche (6-0, 1-0), la Canadienne de 24 ans a craqué en deuxième partie de rencontre, laissant filer la victoire à son adversaire Lesia Tsurenko (0-6, 6-3, 6-4). Une déception, bien sûr, pour une joueuse qui affirmait avant le tournoi se sentir "très forte".
