00:00Hi, my name is Sam from the Lancashire Post and these are your top news stories from across the North West this Wednesday.
00:07Rioters planning on bringing more disorder to Lancashire this week have been warned by police that they are ready to respond.
00:15Concerns have been raised after rioters are thought to be planning extra marches and meets in Preston, Blackburn, Blackpool and Accrington,
00:25following 22 people being arrested in Lancashire last weekend.
00:29A Lancashire Police spokesperson said,
00:32We are monitoring any possible disruption on a local and national level so that we will be ready to respond to any incidents.
00:42Blackpool's Central Pier was evacuated and closed yesterday after a teenage girl fell through a trap door in the boards to the beach below.
00:53Visitors to the pier were evacuated as emergency services tried to help the woman.
01:00A police and coast guard accordon were in place underneath the pier while investigations were ongoing before it was removed at 6.30pm.
01:11It is not currently known how seriously injured the girl is.
01:17A Wigan man who was among an angry mob outside a mosque in Southport has admitted to violent disorder.
01:26Video footage was shown in Liverpool Magistrates Court in which Dylan Carey could be seen throwing a water bottle and kicking a police van.
01:37The 26-year-old of Castle Hill Road, Hindley was arrested and taken into custody.
01:44District Judge Timothy Boswell further remanded him in custody after no bail application was made until August 12th when he is to appear at the city's Crown Court.
01:58A dessert takeaway in Nelson has been prosecuted for failing to protect customers with allergies.
02:05Lancashire County Council's Trading Standards Food Officers found that Manchester Sweet Centre served an undercover officer posing to be a customer with a milk allergy, a lamb kebab with potentially harmful levels of milk protein.
02:23As a result, the business appeared in Blackburn Magistrates Court on July 10th and pled guilty to two charges of supplying food that was injurious to health.
02:34They must now pay £7,229 in fines, a victim surcharge and costs.
02:43Plans for a new restaurant to open in a vacant shop in Lancaster have been revealed.
02:49The application, which aims to create a restaurant sitting up to 20 people, has been submitted to the City Council for the premises at 18 King Street.
02:58A heritage statement said that the property probably dates back to the 18th century and is a high-status three-storey building and the proposed change of use to a restaurant will cause no harm to its heritage significance.
03:14The application has yet to be decided on.
