00:00I'm Kim Kuhn with breaking news in the NASCAR cup series. Spire Motorsports has
00:05announced another new addition to its team for the 2025 season, signing Travis
00:11Peterson as the crew chief for Michael McDowell. Considered an up-and-coming
00:15crew chief in the NASCAR garage, Peterson is in his second year as crew chief for
00:20McDowell in the number 34 at Front Row Motorsports. Yeah we're bringing him in
00:24because you know he brings something different to the table than what we've
00:27had here. We've got a lot of you know smart guys, a lot of good guys, and not
00:32to say that Travis isn't a good guy, but Travis is a bit of a rusty nail at
00:35times and certainly when you look at you know trying to bring different
00:39people together, I think it takes all kinds and so I think we've had the
00:43really great guy part checked and now I wanted to you know let's bring in
00:48somebody that brings a little bit different angle. The two have one win and
00:5116 top tens together since 2023. Spire Motorsports previously announced
00:57McDowell would join the team as a new driver in 2025 and today's announcement
01:02keeps the McDowell-Peterson pairing together. The team has not yet named a
01:07replacement driver for Corey LeJoy who will not return to the number seven car.
