00:00I'm going to have to do the princess cure.
00:06It was scary because we were seven kilometers up the mountain and it wasn't late yet, but
00:14we could all see how if we didn't figure this out quickly, it could get dark on us.
00:24We just went on one of our normal hikes and everything was great all the way up to seven
00:30kilometers into the hike.
00:33And we saw that Kai started raising one of his paws.
00:38He was like fully refusing to walk.
00:43We checked his paw and saw that it was torn.
00:47So we decided to turn around.
00:50Honestly, very lucky that I had my dad and my brother with me because I can't imagine
00:57trying to figure this out by myself.
00:59We tried making a little carrier for him with our hiking poles and jackets, but at the end
01:05over the shoulders was just the easiest.
01:09It was about an hour and a half down to the car.
01:15We were so relieved when we finally got down.
01:18We did contact our vet, but we were able to take care of it at home.
01:23It was honestly a super easy week of healing because we just needed to clean the paw up.
01:30Since Kai was a puppy, we've been going on all types of adventures.
01:35So we were kind of scared that he would be deterred from these adventures after the whole
01:41mountain situation.
01:45After two weeks, he was fully healed.
01:47So we went for a light hike.
01:50It was nice to have my family by my side for our first hike back.
01:54We were just so happy to see once we got back out there, he was back to his regular self,
01:59ready to take on any adventure that we wanted to take him on.
02:03After this whole experience, we learned a lot.
02:07And I would advise any pet parent out there that likes to go on these type of hikes or
02:13adventures to be prepared and carry the proper equipment and your first aid kit.
02:22You never know when these things would happen.
02:24And I really don't wish it upon anybody having to carry your dog down a mountain.
02:44Come.
02:45Come here.
