00:00I just jumped on the opportunity to be able to do my own stunts.
00:08It takes a whole family to make a stunt sequence.
00:21The first thing that Leslie said to me when I first met her is that she wanted to incorporate
00:26a lot of wuja and kung fu and samurai flair into the action of the acolyte.
00:32Working with the stunt team from a ground up type of progression.
00:44Being an actor, you're really just a small part of a much larger team.
00:55We started learning the choreography sequences for the big fight in the noodle shop.
01:01That was such a rewarding fight sequence to learn because I in kind of one fell swoop
01:06learned a lot of the fundamental pieces that I would use later in the shoot.
01:14We wanted the stranger to move very differently from what we've seen in the prequels and in
01:21the original trilogy.
01:22We really wanted to be very fluid and we wanted him to move like something we've never seen
01:27before.
01:28Like he was quick yet powerful but also sneaky.
01:32I insisted that I do most of my stunts, I just need to be able to do this once so that
01:37if my kids watch it I can be like, I did that.
01:40Even with training, you know, you wear a mask, we can't really see a tiny bit.
01:44It's easy to kill your stomach really quick, heart racing, you know, and many, he's working
01:50really hard, he's just wearing a mask, he's used to the regime, so that earned me a lot
01:54of respect.
01:55I think he put a lot of effort for this role.
02:13I wanted to do everything and luckily enough the stunt team, they appeased my wants.
02:19We became a family in there, truly.
