00:00Nothing brings us together like the movies.
00:02You know, we go with our families, we go with our friends, we go with strangers.
00:06Six months ago, I learned about John Bell.
00:09I've got my pink unicorn umbrella in my Hello Kitty bag.
00:13He's a dad from Nottingham, England, who lost his son.
00:16And his son loved Deadpool.
00:19Let me get my swords in.
00:21Hello, buddy.
00:21How much is Deadpool for you?
00:22About, I think, about 15k.
00:23Oh my god, that's really heavy.
00:26Deadpool is a character who is in pain, and he fights through it.
00:31Today was about as much fun as this.
00:36It just seemed right to give John the proper Hollywood Deadpool treatment.
00:43And ask him one question.
00:45We're going to chat for a minute here.
00:49All right with that?
00:49Okay, I'd just love to hit the mics.
00:52I really only have one question, and we're going to go from there.
00:56I want you to just tell me about your son.
01:03Oh, where do I start, eh?
01:09He was just so funny, so comical, and we did everything together.
01:15He was my firstborn son.
01:17He was just absolutely everything to me.
01:22Absolutely fantastic.
01:23Thank you for just stopping to appreciate everything.
01:26When I was introduced to you, you were in a Deadpool suit, basically.
01:31And you were carrying a bathtub.
01:33That's right.
01:34So yeah, he does.
01:35It represents the weight that
01:38Burmese people carry when they struggle with their mental health.
01:40But it's visual.
01:42After I lost my son to AIDS, it put me in a very dark place.
01:46For a year, I was planning my own death and talking myself into staying.
01:51Because my family need me.
01:52My kids need me.
01:53What I do now keeps me alive daily.
01:55Because I've made my peace with death.
01:57I'm going to be reunited with him at some point.
02:00But it damn right ain't now.
02:08Welcome to Action, everybody!
02:10All I have to do is put one foot in front of the other.
02:13The resilience it takes to put one foot in front of the other
02:16as many times as you've done it and transmute that much grief.
02:21Into something powerfully useful.
02:23I'm very grateful that you shared his story.
02:25I want to share with you that I, too, have a son.
02:29And that if...
02:31Boy, John, if I love him one-tenth as much as you love Jake,
02:35I feel like I've done a pretty damn good job.
02:39I love you, John.
02:49I love you, too.
02:50Yeah, I love you, too.
02:51Love you.
