00:00the line reached a little bit further. But it was the following year, once the Badu Vardat
00:10had been completed, that on the 28th of July 1899, trams arrived here in the current ground
00:19station for the first time. And four large winter saloon trams were delivered for the opening of
00:26the new section of the line by GF Mills of Birkenhead. And they included 19, 20, 22 and 21
00:36that hauled us here today. And they all remain, all of those remain in service to this day,
00:41which is pretty incredible. And I think it just highlights the extraordinary skill,
00:47expertise, craftsmanship of the Victorian companies that did that. We were with the
00:54steam railway yesterday and I was making the same point,
00:57then talking about sustainability and endurance of these things. Wow, absolutely amazing.
01:04So today we're marking the 125th anniversary of the first tram into Ranji station.
