00:00A man was arrested for holding and carnapping a car in Rizal.

00:07The suspect said that he didn't know that his accomplice planned to steal the car.

00:14EJ Gomez brought the news.

00:20The driver of this car was just having fun

00:23when two men held up his car at 9 p.m. last Friday.

00:28According to the police, three suspects booked a trip from Antipolo City to Tanay, Rizal

00:34but only two of them drove the SUV.

00:37While, along the way to Tanay, from Antipolo, they declared a hold up.

00:44The driver was a bit alert.

00:46He called his girlfriend.

00:49So he informed his girlfriend through speakerphone,

00:53I'm being held up.

00:54The girlfriend of the 22-year-old victim told us

00:57My boyfriend felt that something might happen or that there's a plan.

01:02That's why he called me.

01:04When they arrived at the dark part, which I didn't see in the video call,

01:09that's when it happened.

01:11I heard what they said,

01:14Are you here? Don't move.

01:17Then they hung up the call.

01:19That's when the girlfriend of the victim called the Baras Police Station

01:23to steal the car.

01:25According to the victim,

01:27he was shot in the right side of the neck by one of the suspects

01:31when he took his cellphone and money.

01:34He was dropped here at the Baras area.

01:38He was left there.

01:39When we saw them, they suddenly started to run away.

01:43Because there's an uneven road there, the car turned around.

01:47According to the police, when the car overturned, the doors couldn't be opened.

01:52That's when the suspects forcibly opened the windshield to escape.

01:56That's when the chase started.

01:59One of the two suspects was caught by the police.

02:02He insisted that they just hold up the driver.

02:05He didn't know that his accomplice would fire a gun and steal the car.

02:10I didn't want to do that.

02:12He was going to shoot my accomplice.

02:14I just ran at him.

02:16I said, run, he's going to shoot you.

02:18He brought the car so that we could get away.

02:20But we got hit by a car.

02:22He also defended himself.

02:24I was driving the jeep, but I didn't have a license to get a license.

02:28He forced me to join him.

02:30According to the police, the suspect was previously charged with rape in 2009

02:35and murder in 2013.

02:37The chase continued for the escaped suspect who was shot.

02:41Also for an unknown man who followed and booked the suspects' trip.
