A Look into the Future Year 2050
Transcript
00:00The world is advancing at unprecedented rates and by 2050, we can expect to see life on
00:06Earth change drastically.
00:08If this is true, then what can we expect from the future?

00:19Now let's get into it.
00:22Nanotechnology Scientists have already made great leaps
00:26in the world of nanotechnology and they remain unrelenting in making more of such progress.
00:33Nanotechnology has the potential to change everything from the way we behave to how we
00:37interact with each other.
00:39Many people in the industry firmly believe that there'll come a time when nanobots will
00:44be fitted in our brains, allowing us to live within a larger, more connected virtual reality
00:50within our nervous system.
00:52This sounds far-fetched, but many people believe it will be a reality sooner or later.
00:58Transportation By 2050, transportation would have changed
01:01immensely.
01:02We're already seeing self-driving cars in their early phases of trial and error, so
01:06in three decades it's safe to say we should have the technology for true self-driving
01:11vehicles.
01:12According to a Stanford University report, self-driving cars would not only reduce traffic-related
01:18deaths and injuries, but also bring about a change in lifestyle.
01:22When people don't have to drive anymore, they will have more free time for themselves
01:26and may choose to live in different places as a result.
01:30Companies like Tesla are already working to put out cars with such capabilities, and it
01:34won't be too long till we see them in full action.
01:37Another interesting technology that could change the way we travel is the Hyperloop
01:421.
01:43The train has the potential to revolutionize transportation forever.
01:47According to co-founder Shervin Peshiva, we've reached historic speeds of 310 kilometers
01:53an hour, and we're excited to finally show the world the XP-1 going into the Hyperloop
02:001 tube.
02:01When you hear the sound of the Hyperloop 1, you hear the sounds of the future.
02:18The Hyperloop could be one of the most revolutionary modes of mass transportation in well over
02:22a hundred years, and with the help of electromagnetic levitation, the Hyperloop will give people
02:28access to a faster, safer, and cheaper source of transportation.
02:33For many scientists and world leaders, a major issue that clouds the world today is global
02:38warming.
02:39If people have any chance of attaining a greener and cleaner future, we need to switch practices
02:44by favoring more sustainable sources of energy.
02:48If we can manage to do that, we can expect to see a large difference in the future of
02:52our planet.
02:54Energy
02:55The ocean could provide us with a solution when it comes to renewable energy.
02:59The thermal energy hidden away in the ocean is immense and largely untapped at this point.
03:04Blue Rise is a company that is working on creating an energy breakthrough, one of the
03:09likes that haven't been seen before.
03:11If their project pulls through, it will be able to outcompete fossil fuel-based sources
03:16of energy.
03:18Blue Rise is just one of the many ambitious companies trying to break out of the traditional
03:22means of energy production and can hopefully provide us with new solutions for the environmental
03:27problems that plague the world today.
03:31Space Exploration
03:32One promise that many people are still waiting on is one of space exploration.
03:38Companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin are making strides towards their respective goals
03:42of spatial exploration and colonization out of this world.
03:47We're not sure which goal will come to fruition first, but we can expect to have the capabilities
03:52to make space tourism a reality by 2050.
03:56People who can afford it will be able to spend up to a week in orbit.
04:00But be wary, according to many experts, spending a week in orbit won't come cheap and it'll
04:06likely stay that way for a long time.
04:09Artificial Intelligence
04:10AI is already much more advanced than it was 10 years ago, and it will only continue to
04:16witness rapid and exponential developments.
04:20Experts like John Mayeda believe that AI will have surpassed the processing power of all
04:24living brains on Earth in the near future.
04:27To properly function in that kind of society, it will be necessary to work together with
04:31these new systems to make sure that the preservation of important human values is carried forward.
04:37The rise of AI and change in culture will make technology an integral part of the workforce
04:43in the coming years.
04:45Everything will be connected and driven by data.
04:48Researchers also believe that the landscape of many industries, as well as the job market,
04:53will radically change as a consequence.
04:55If we are to go by the current trajectory of things, almost half of the world's current
05:00jobs won't even exist in 2050.
05:03Many of the physical labor jobs will be given out to the machines and robots, opening up
05:07new and safer job opportunities for the people.
05:10We can also expect to see people moving away from the traditional work systems, wanting
05:14more time to themselves, thus moving comfortably from the 9 to 5 lifestyle.
05:20Education
05:21Education is another industry that will see a drastic change in the next 30 years.
05:26According to experts, at least 90% of the student population will be pursuing online
05:30degrees by 2050.
05:33Unless the world devolves into an apocalypse, education will continue to be more globalized,
05:38and more solutions will come that allow more people to receive good education efficiently.
05:44The world has recently witnessed a huge move to online education, and it seems like more
05:48educational institutions have seen some of its benefits.
05:52Online education will likely continue to be the way of the future and will help people
05:57learn from any corner of the world.
05:59According to an article from Commercial Micro Manufacturing, robots will most likely take
06:04over many of the tasks you would expect your regular educators to handle.
06:09These robots will be capable of preparing courses, giving lectures, answering questions,
06:14setting and marking assignments, and providing feedback on time.
06:19And because robots don't require payment and can work tirelessly around the clock,
06:23they will serve as cost-effective solutions for educational institutions.
06:27There's no doubt that the world will be quite different by 2050.
06:31We will see our existing systems and structures improve drastically, which will, in turn,
06:37change the way people function all around the world.
06:40The advancement of both AI and space travel will most likely be huge factors that help
06:45spark the radical change in the coming years.
06:49We can only hope that when that happens, we don't find ourselves in an apocalyptic nightmare
06:55instead.
06:56What kind of changes do you expect to come by 2050?
