American League Winner Showdown: Yankees Vs. Orioles Odds

00:00Five teams, Donnie, in the American League at 7-1, we'll show you the NL odds in just
00:08a moment.
00:09That has really been a two-team race all year long.
00:12But there are five teams at 7-1 or shorter in the American League, only three at that
00:18price or better in the National League.
00:20So we expect it to be highly, highly competitive for that American League pennant.
00:24Yeah, and by the way, you are looking at those top two teams here, the Yankees and the Orioles,
00:28and rightfully so.
00:29Now, the FanBlue Sportsbook plus 240 and plus 280, I completely agree with that.
00:33I still think the Yankees have the slight upper hand here.
00:35I think they're going forward for the rest of the season as a complete team, just a little
00:40bit better than the O's.
00:41But that margin is close.
00:42And if you're telling me, hey, Don, I think the O's are going to win, look, there's arguments
00:45to be made for that as well.
00:46But if I'm looking in totality for the American League myself, Yankees, Orioles, clear-cut
00:51favorites here.
00:52Then, of course, Guardians, Astros, Twins, and Mariners.
00:54But if we're being honest, like if you are, I don't know, Yankees or Orioles fans, you
00:58expect to hopefully meet up, let's just say, in an ALCS at that point.
01:03But the thing that's going to happen here is, as we head down the stretch, right now,
01:06it's a dead heat in the American League East.
01:09And why that is big?
01:10Because both teams can't win a division here.
01:12They're in the same division.
01:13So once you see the Yankees and the Orioles win, you might be getting a really nice price
01:18point on number two.
01:20Because the Orioles, let's just say, plus 280, they're still the second-best team record-wise
01:25in the American League.
01:26They shouldn't be the second-best team in the odds market, because their path is going
01:29to be much harder, where other teams are going to have home-field advantage against the Baltimore
01:33Orioles.
01:34So maybe if you're looking at a stance like, you know what, Donny, I'm not ready to make
01:37a decision right now on who I think is going to win that division, Yankees or Orioles.
01:41But at the end of the season, let's just say the Yankees win it by two games or the Orioles
01:44win it by two games.
01:45I'm interested to see what that price point, not on the division champions going to be,
01:49but on the second-place team, because you're going to get a much better price point.
01:52And for me, I do think it's far and away, Ben, in the American League.
01:55The two best teams are the Yankees and the Orioles, and I don't think it's particularly
01:59close.
