00:00There are so many effective ways to shuffle a deck of cards.

00:04There's the old overhand shuffle, which I'm sure most of you already know.

00:08There are also some ways that are a little bit more rough and tumble,

00:11like cutting cards off the top, the bottom, the top, the bottom,

00:14making a whole mess of the deck all over the table.

00:17Of course, this isn't the most elegant way of shuffling, but it gets the job done.

00:21A little bit more elegant would be to take the cards and give them a tabled cut like this,

00:26mixing the packets around, but even more effective is the tabled riffle shuffle,

00:30where the cards get riffled together, squared up like this, and then given a few cuts.

00:35And after we do all of those shuffles, let's see how well-mixed the deck is.

00:42Oh, it's in perfect new deck order.

00:44That's ace, two, three, four, all the way to king of spades,

00:47ace to king of diamonds, king to ace of clubs, king to ace of hearts,

00:52a perfectly unshuffled deck.
