00:00Well, there's more than 10,000 people tipped to come through at Fanny Bay Racecourse today,
00:06where people will be watching Darwin's premier racing event, and indeed one of the largest
00:11social events in the Northern Territory that takes place annually throughout the year,
00:15since the Cup first began here in Darwin in 1956.
00:19However, this year the Darwin Turf Club has noted there'll be fewer attendees after one
00:24of the major attendance areas was shut, due to fears that not as many people could come
00:29through the gates, due to cost of living pressures.
00:31Look, it is challenging.
00:33We've got to compete with a lot of events this time of year in Darwin anyway, but yeah,
00:39I think what we put on, what the product we put on, and the racing we have up in Darwin
00:44over the last, certainly the last eight days, showcases what we can do up here, so encourage
00:50those that can come up to get your backside trackside and head up to Darwin.
00:55As for its competition though, its main opponent likely to be Wolfburn, back to second favourite
01:00in the race, and trained by former Darwin Cup winner Gary Clark.
