00:00What's up, everyone?
00:11Today I'm going to be walking in downtown Miami through Bayfront Park and Bayside Marketplace.
00:19I'm right now on the southern side of the park in front of the Intercontinental Hotel,
00:26which was constructed in 1982 as the Pavilion Hotel.
00:33Today's date is Sunday, September 10th, 2023.
00:38It's about 8.45 p.m. and it's 84 Fahrenheit, 29 Celsius.
00:51Bayfront Park is right next to me here.
00:56It's the largest park in downtown Miami and home to the Ultra Music Festival every March.
01:14It's bordered by Biscayne Boulevard, US Route 1 to the west, and Biscayne Bay to the right.
01:41I really like this area because of the Biscayne Bay.
01:47We're going to be walking there right now.
01:53This superyacht in front of me is called the Grand Luxe.
01:57It's operated by Seafair, but today it's only reserved for private events.
02:07This was launched in 2007 and cost $40 million to build.
02:14It's a 220-foot yacht.
02:36Here's a nice look at the Biscayne Bay right now and the start of the Miami Riverwalk.
03:01That Ferris wheel in the distance is part of Bayside Marketplace.
03:27It's called the Sky Views Miami.
03:34I think the tickets to get on that Ferris wheel cost about $25 a person.
03:59There's a beautiful dog park right here.
04:04This was recently renovated.
04:29There's a small playground area here for the kids.
04:46Right behind a statue of Julia Tuttle, the only woman accredited to founding a city in
05:54In front of me is the Bayfront Park Fountain, which sadly hasn't been in operation for at
06:03least six or seven years.
06:08It has many structural issues that make it very expensive to run, and I don't think the
06:15city government really has a plan to correct it or repurpose this area, which is really
06:22a complete shame.
06:25But from this vantage point in the park, it's very gorgeous.
06:30You can really see the skyline of downtown Miami here right along Biscayne Boulevard.
06:48Throughout the year, there are many special events that happen.
07:19In this park, the largest of which is the Ultra Music Festival in March.
07:26That's the largest electronic music festival in the world.
07:32It always brings a lot of attention.
07:38Also they have July 4th celebrations and New Year's here.
08:06Just to the north of Bayfront Park is Bayside Marketplace, the number one tourist attraction
08:14in Miami.
08:30The park is also home to this nice little sandy beach, although you can't swim here.
08:41But it is a nice place to relax.
10:02Over here is a popular food cart.
10:16This is the public parking area for Bayside Marketplace.
11:17This marketplace is always pretty lively.
11:26It's home to well-known brands such as Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, the Hard Rock Restaurant,
11:34Starbucks is coming soon, and many other retail shops.
12:04The 5 o'clock somewhere bar, named after the song from Jimmy Buffett.
12:33Unfortunately, Jimmy Buffett passed away earlier this month.
14:03Landshark Bar and Grill down there.
14:28Here's one of the many attractions that you can ride.
14:32This one is themed like a pirate ship.
14:47These waterfront dining areas are very popular, especially at night time.
14:52Here's the Lola Bar.
15:22Here's Ben's Pizza, they're actually pretty decent.
15:37Slices are $6 each.
16:07Here's the boarding area for Thriller Miami.
16:11I guarantee you will get wet during that ride.
16:15I've done it once, and they put you in a high-speed boat.
16:19They take you on a tour of Miami at high speeds.
16:25And you'll pick up all the waves.
16:39Here's La Industria, opened by a celebrity chef known for its crazy creations,
16:45like their stacked pancakes with strawberry and syrup.
16:51And this is the interior of Bayside Marketplace.
16:56It's not completely covered.
16:59Open rooftop.
17:02I mean, open ceiling.
17:09Scoops ice cream and gelato.
17:39And over here starts the section with the smaller retail vendors.
17:44If you want to do some souvenir shopping, this is the place to be.
17:49I think they have pretty competitive pricing and you do get some good quality items.
18:12Miami gifts.
18:14One t-shirt for $9.99, three for $25.
18:18They really cut you a break if you buy three.
18:48If you want juices, this is where you go.
19:09To your left.
19:11You see them giving out samples.
19:13Oh, right here.
19:32Here's another gelato place.
19:37And over here is Pier 5, coming soon.
19:44Before Bayside Marketplace was the original Pier 5, where they did a lot of fishing and transporting of goods.
19:53But the renovated Pier 5 is going to have entertainment spaces.
19:59I think an area for more food and beverages.
20:03And it's going to be really exciting.
20:06I don't know what the timeline is for when they're going to open it up, but it's promising.
20:24If you want fruity flavors on a stick, you come here to Wonder Fruits.
20:42If an alligator head is your fancy, you come to this shop.
20:57These are actually real alligator heads. The teeth are very sharp.
21:26If you want to sign up for tours and attractions, this is where you want to do it.
21:37There's a few of them.
21:40Key West tours you can get here, Everglades tours, ATV rentals and jet skis as well.
21:56There's also a Starbucks coming soon in that central area.
22:26The clock is 25% off.
22:37And there's Times Square Electronics here.
22:55There's also a second floor. There's Bath and Body Works.
23:01And a Five Guys restaurant at the corner there.
23:31Maybe I will go on the second floor.
24:00Victoria's Secret here.
24:29This escalator is actually extremely filthy. There's no reason why it broke down.
24:54The second floor is definitely a lot more quiet than the first floor.
25:24There's Chili's restaurant.
25:53I love the decor of this place.
26:20There's a Cuban restaurant.
26:40Fat Tuesday daiquiri bar.
26:52There's another restaurant called Black Market Miami.
27:04Five Guys.
27:33Let's head out this way towards Biscayne Boulevard.
28:02There's a good place to take some pictures with the Bayside logo above you.
28:25There's a pretty old banyan tree.
28:39Movie-inspired Bubblegum Shrimp Company is to my right.
28:53This is totally a reference to the Forrest Gump movie.
29:11There's also a Ben's Pizza place over here.
29:35Over here is the taxi and bus drop-off location.
29:49And over here is the public parking garage.
30:17And that is it. That will do it for my tour of Bayfront Park and Bayside Marketplace.
30:25Hope you enjoyed it. Hit that like button, subscribe, and I will see you next time.
30:32Bye-bye everyone. Take care.
