00:00It was a super Saturday on the medal count for Team USA,
00:03including in skeet shooting where Vincent Hancock made history,
00:07becoming the sixth Olympian ever across all sports to win four golds in the same
00:11event, joining the likes of Carl Lewis, Michael Phelps, and, oh, I don't know,
00:15one more notable winner from Saturday.
00:17What's bigger than the Eiffel Tower?
00:19Saturday's biggest story is from Paris.
00:20Check them out.
00:21Katie Ledecky completed the four-peat in the women's 800 freestyle,
00:25continuing domination.
00:27Speaking of domination, Simone Biles claimed her seventh career gold,
00:29tenth overall medal in the women's vault.
00:32Teammate Jade Carey took the bronze, and Steven Naderoz ignited another bronze,
00:36this one in the men's pommel horse.
00:38In the women's 100-meter final, favorite Sha'Carri Richardson settled for
00:41silver after being upset by Julian Alfred of Saint Lucia.
00:45On the men's side, Noah Lyle strolled into the semis,
00:47placing second in his first-round heat.
00:50Also, Ryan Krauser and Joe Kovacs went one and two for Team USA in the shot put
00:55for the third straight Olympics.
00:57Men's basketball behind 26 points for Anthony Edwards.
00:59The US topped Puerto Rico 104-83 to secure the top seed in the quarterfinals,
01:04where Brazil is up next.
01:05Trinity Rodman's rocket left foot in extra time lifted the US women's soccer team
01:10to the semifinals with a 1-0 win over Japan.
01:13In tennis, Austin Krychek and Rajiv Ram took silver in the men's doubles,
01:16while Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul bagged bronze.
01:19That's it for Saturday's action.
01:20Come back right here tomorrow.
01:21Stick with Yahoo Sports for all the updates from Paris.
01:28Remember Magic Johnson's over-the-head pass to Michael Jordan?
01:33Remember Dwayne Wade's alley-oop to Kobe Bryant?
01:36That's the element that Anthony Edwards has entered with that windmill dunk
01:41in the waning fourth quarter of the 104-83 win over Puerto Rico.
01:45That's the moment that will forever be etched in our minds as the US goes for
01:49another gold medal as they finish 3-0 in pool play, and
01:53will take on Brazil in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
01:56No Drew Holiday again?
01:58No problem.
01:59LeBron takes over the point.
02:00Kevin Durant only scoring early double figures?
02:03That's why you have Anthony Edwards there.
02:05That's what you're going to remember as the US goes for another gold medal.
02:09It's the quality and the depth of their roster, the athleticism in the second
02:13unit, Anthony Edwards, Derek White, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant.
02:19The first unit doesn't necessarily pick up the slack, but
02:22the second unit just blows over and blows through everybody.
02:26Stephen Curry still hasn't exploded yet, and
02:28LeBron played another workman-like game.
02:31Remember, Joel Embiid actually took last game off and
02:35came back and looked like himself in this Olympic play.
02:39That's the thing that the US will have that nobody else has,
02:42the ability to morph themselves into different versions and
02:46to still leave food on the table.
02:48Now as they move forward, all this is about is staying healthy and
02:52staying on course.
02:53I'm Allison Felix with Yahoo Sports, and
02:56here are my biggest takeaway from Saturday's track and field finals.
03:01The Women's 100, the marquee event, it was a lot of drama.
03:06Right from the start, we didn't see Shellyann Frazier-Price.
03:09She was out with a hamstring injury, which we just hated to see because it would have
03:13been a historic run for her.
03:15We saw Julianne Alfred through the rounds, and she looked brilliant.
03:19She was really building and looking good.
03:21I think it all came down to execution.
03:24At the start, Julianne Alfred got away brilliantly.
03:28Sha'Carri Richardson had a poor start.
03:29Usually she can recover, but Julianne Alfred was too far away for
03:33her to be able to make up ground.
03:35So Julianne Alfred, gold medal, Sha'Carri Richardson had to settle for
03:39the silver, and Melissa Jefferson got that bronze medal.
03:43And those are your top three in the Women's 100.
03:45The mixed 4x4 was another race that was really tough.
03:49It was another race that was full of drama.
03:52The USA came in with the world record, and they looked great.
03:57They ran really great legs, but it looks like they maybe weren't as fresh.
04:02And the Netherlands came in, and they had Femke Bol on that anchor leg, and she ran
04:08a monster leg.
04:09She split 47, which is just huge.
04:12The US still ran a really great final leg, but it was just way too much with Femke coming
04:18down and grabbing that goal in the last few meters.
04:22The men's shot put, Ryan Krauser really seems unstoppable.
04:26He came away with his third straight gold medal, and he's just so exciting to watch.
04:32So much fun, so much dominance.
04:34There's never been a three-peat in the shot put ever, and he made that look easy.
04:39Joe Kovacs also, he had a clutch performance at the end and nabbed that silver medal.
04:45So really cool to see them go one-two.
04:48For more track and field news, keep it locked here on Yahoo Sports.
04:56A spectacular 1-0 win for the USA women's national team.
05:01What an absolutely incredible win by the women, led under Emma Hayes, who did not make any
05:06subs until extra time.
05:09Just completely gassed this 11.
05:10I don't know if you guys are aware, but you're playing a match every three days, basically.
05:14It's kind of difficult to do, but she stood tall, and she believed in her first 11.
05:17She believes championships are won by consistent starting lineups, and she's proven that today
05:22by not making any subs, and she didn't need it in extra time.
05:25Trinity Rodman, who's been amazing this entire tournament, but hasn't scored a goal yet,
05:30was spectacular.
05:31Just an absolutely amazing goal.
05:33Took it upon herself to play before she had passed it off, and it went nowhere.
05:37So she said, I'm going to do this one myself, and boy, did she.
05:40Absolutely star of a goal.
05:41You could see what happens when Sam Coffey's not available, who was out today because of
05:44yellow card accumulation.
05:45While Corbin Albert is a very good player, you could see she's not at the level of Sam
05:49Coffey.
05:50Sam Coffey can play that single pivot, completely protect the back line, distribute the ball
05:54out.
05:55She could stop most of the attacks coming her way.
05:57She can help start our attacks.
05:59Absolutely incredible.
06:00He was not available today, and you could see how much she was missed.
06:04Congratulations to the US women.
06:05It doesn't get any easier now.
06:06We play a match every three days, and the next one coming up is the semifinal, but congratulations
06:11to Emma Hayes on a massive, massive win.
