00:00Even as I was a founding member of USA Skateboarding and making the push to skateboarding, being in the Olympics,

00:09I never thought I'd be participating in them.

00:12You know, I could show you interviews of me when I was 35 years old.

00:17You know, how long can you do this for?

00:20And I'd be like, I don't know, maybe I can milk it until I'm 40.

00:23And here I am, 51, we're learning.

00:26You know, we're still learning how long you can ride a skateboard,

00:29and certainly how long you can do it competitively.

00:32So we're still finding out.

00:35Skateboarding is old enough that it has a history.

00:37It's an oral history, and I'm part of it.

00:41So when I see my teammates, you know, my teenager teammates trying a new trick,

00:46chances are, like, I know where that trick came from, or who invented it, or how it got its name,

00:52or I invented the trick myself, you know, so I can contribute and be a part of it that way

00:56so that they'll be more educated and be able to pass on that history to the next generation.

01:01I'm just so happy to be here and be a part of it.

01:05If there was a gold medal for who's having the most fun on the course, it's mine, for sure.
