The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has returned to amaze crowds once again with this year’s Show, Journeys.
Providing all the artistic fanfare that Tattoo fans have come to expect, the show features 800 performers and takes crowds on an epic journey of connection through music, dance, culture, and military traditions.
Now in its 74th year, the Tattoo is performed to a live audience of 230,000 annually on the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle with a further global TV audience of over 100 million.

00:42It's all about collaboration, so obviously I've got a large team of people who help
00:43bring this together because it's a massive exercise.
00:44We will meet with all the acts who are slated to be in the show and discuss the theme of
00:48the show, ideas and innovations for presentation and then the visiting acts will then go and
00:54come up with their ideas in music programs and we'll discuss those, make
00:58some edits, make choices on music and movement and everything and with our own
01:03content with tattoo performers with the mass pipes and drums obviously that's
01:06more of an in-house exercise and then our guest artists each year they will
01:11table their program and then we work those up collaboratively and then stitch
01:15the whole thing together so we're telling a story with all the individual
01:18pieces of the show so it's an ongoing process of conversation and
01:23collaboration. This is such a great company with a great history and a great
01:28country and we have an amazing team so to be a part of this and as we launch
01:34into this means a great deal I'm really excited about it we're ready and it is
01:40the culmination of over a year's worth of work happening tonight it's gonna be
01:44a great show. I'm thrilled I can't wait to see the band strike up the
01:50lights go up and hear what the audience think of what we've got for them this
01:54year we've been waiting for this moment for so long and in the last couple of
01:59days has been a real strong sense in the cast that they're ready to go they want
02:03an audience and tonight's the night.
