00:00A lot of the 9-11 families are concerned about this plea deal that the administration reached
00:05with KSM.
00:08Are you concerned about this plea deal?
00:09I am very concerned about this plea deal and I think we ought to scrutinize it very carefully.
00:17I think there are interests here that may not have been represented as fairly and aggressively
00:22as they should have been.
00:24I champion the 9-11 families in their legal action against Saudi Arabia.
00:30There is so much here that we don't know and we have an obligation to tell the American
00:35people about the potential complicity, not only of these defendants, but of Saudi Arabia
00:41and other countries.
00:42Have the administration given you any explanation to this yet?
00:46No explanation whatsoever.
00:49They owe me and Congress an explanation, but more importantly they owe the 9-11 families
00:54and the American people.
00:56When you say scrutinize it, what exactly do you think you could find?
01:01We can't know what we would find until we do the scrutiny, but basically it's whether
01:08the interests of justice and particularly the 9-11 families were represented fairly
01:14and aggressively in seeking results here that are important to our credibility around
01:21the world.
01:22When we fight terrorists and we have them in custody, we need to hold them accountable
01:28with the kinds of penalties that really do justice to the victims.
