00:00Hello everyone, today I am going to try another Superior Meats, Superior Meats Company, and
00:10they make all sorts of meats and sticks and all sorts of meats, like meats that you can
00:14put, throw on the barbecue, but I always seem to buy the sticks.
00:18Now this one is Applewood Smoked Bacon, and I've tried a few other ones too, like Crocodile,
00:23Exotic Crocodile, from Superior Meats as well, so you can check out that review as well.
00:29And also it has a little tour of their booth in Peterborough, Ontario, at the Farmer's
00:32Market at the Memorial Centre at Lansdowne Street.
00:36So I also bought another one, Kangaroo Meat, and to be honest with you, I wasn't too happy
00:41with the video quality of that one, but I put it up anyway, because it's my voice that's
00:47more important.
00:48I felt it to be a little dark, and you couldn't really see what it said here, but, so, I like
00:55bacon, so I figured I would buy these two, and, again, no added filler, naturally smoked,
01:03doesn't need to be refrigerated, and it's, oh, this one doesn't say it's gluten-free,
01:10I think the other one did say that, the Exotic ones were gluten-free, I believe both of them,
01:15so I'm giving you a little heads up there.
01:19And this is, let's see, so basically, calories intake are 80, 5% fat, 6% trans fat, fibre
01:29is 0, sugar is 1%, sodium is 20, potassium is 4, calcium is 1, and iron is 2.
01:39And they're fairly big sticks, too, if you think about it.
01:41And basically the ingredients are basically, oh, I can't even read it, it's so small I
01:46can't read the ingredients, but there's not much there.
01:48And now I'm probably, I really wish they kind of had a zipper where you can just, like,
01:52you know, like, like, you know, like, peel it, and then unzip it, pull that one out,
01:57but because they don't, they're kind of hard to open, so, I have to use, I have to use
02:09my teeth, and then I'll clean that up after, ah, there we go, so I have to use my teeth
02:17that I don't really like, but when I was a kid, like, if you remember in the 80s, everyone,
02:22if you were young, and you had a bike, and you drove to the corner store, if you did
02:27something like that when you were young, you'd be biting open candy bars, you know, ripping
02:32them open with your teeth all the time, having those big jaw breakers, that's what I remember.
02:41Sorry about that there, but I had to get the plastic out of my mouth, there's just no other
02:45way to open it, I should have brought a knife, I'm just stupid, I guess, and didn't even
02:49bring a knife, but they're a fairly big one, oh, wow, they smell like applewood, they smell
02:55like applewood smoked bacon, actually, they smell really nice, really nice actually, wow,
03:01I'm kind of impressed of the smell already, alright, let's see here, wow, rubbery though,
03:11kind of rubbery, broke it on the inside there, so now, taste test, I'm smoking an applewood,
03:37it's a bit chewy, but it has a nice, yeah, the texture I don't like, I found it a little
03:44hard to go down my throat, so you should have some water on you, or a drink or something,
03:49but I do like the flavor, there is no spice to this one, I couldn't read the ingredients
03:55because it was super small, well, they should have added some spice to it, but there is
04:00a smoked flavor, but it's not super strong that I actually do like sometimes, very, very,
04:22very chewy, I would prefer it to melt in my mouth, so it can go down my throat easy,
04:32it doesn't really do that, and it kind of reminds me of cigarettes, but again though,
04:39I don't smoke, I never did smoke, but it reminds me of those candy cigarettes from Popeyes
04:45back in the day, strangely enough, I wouldn't buy these again, but if you don't mind it
05:02being chewy, actually, that easy went down, that went down easy, actually, but if you
05:07don't mind something chewy, and it does, it is bacon, and it is tasty, you wouldn't
05:15mind these, you wouldn't mind them at all, so I give it a six, to me they're, yeah, six,
05:22a six, I'm kind of being generous, because I do like them, but chances are I wouldn't
05:26buy them again, I would have preferred a more smoked, like the smoked flavor was good, because
05:33I don't like it overwhelming sometimes, and this wasn't an overwhelming smoked bacon,
05:40I like the applewood flavor, but it's just too chewy for me, and I had a hard time swallowing
05:46it, but yeah, I see, yeah, but superior meats have a whole bunch, and I'm going to be trying
06:06a whole bunch of superior meats, because they got so much there, I'm not even kidding you,
06:10I couldn't believe it, so check out my crocodile and kangaroo, kangaroo superior meats, the
06:17exotic ones, I'll be trying more exotic meats like that as well, but this one here, just,
06:23I don't know, I probably wouldn't buy it again, I'm definitely going to eat them though, I
06:28like them, a six out of ten is not too bad, I don't hate them, I'm probably going to give
06:33them to some friends, and see what they think of it, I'm sure that somebody would probably
06:37like this a lot more than I would, but for now, it's good quality, yeah, it kind of gave
06:44me some trouble with the throat there, but anyway, bye for now everyone, have an incredible
