00:00The Parc de la Villette or the Park of Nations has transformed itself into a vibrant location
00:09dedicated to fans and the sports that they're cheering for.
00:12Think of it like a giant fan zone where fans can visit the hospitality houses of different
00:17nations.
00:18Take a look.
00:19Located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, La Villette has supported amateur sports for
00:25over 40 years now.
00:27It was inaugurated in 1987 and the park boasts of having the largest straight workout area
00:33in France and a place for every sport.
00:37This sporting tradition binds into the spirit of the Olympics this year.
00:42India has opened its doors to its first ever Olympic hospitality house as the country looks
00:46to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
00:49This is a place where you can get a glimpse of Indian culture, food, art and so much more.
00:55It's also the place where Indian athletes get to meet their fans.
00:59The India House in Paris was created by the Reliance Foundation, owned by the Billionaire
01:04Ambani family.
01:06From a good old traditional Banarasi beef to some delicious butter chicken and even
01:11a mehendi stall, the house at Paris boasts of bringing India's best to the Olympic stage.
01:17Small knickknacks are a cosy reminder of home for the Indian diaspora while a live DJ with
01:23Raghu Dixit gets the crowd grooving, promising fun-filled soirees.
01:54Performers and artists from India are cheering on our athletes and also bringing Bollywood
02:00to Paris.
02:01We have Raghu Dixit playing here, we have these different artists, we are the artists
02:06who are performing over here and I would just tell you one thing that the feeling to perform
02:10for your country, it's not for the country but yes it's for representing the country,
02:15it's a beautiful feeling.
02:16So far I've been walking around the entire Parc de la Villette and I've enjoyed the Indian
02:20house the most because it has a great, great, great opportunity to see the Indian culture,
02:25the Indian food which I absolutely love and there is some nice music over there and I
02:30happen to enjoy it a lot.
02:50There are also houses of other nations including France, Brazil, South Africa and the Czech
03:01Republic to name a few.
03:03The houses are packed with visitors exploring some of the best that the world has to offer.
03:09Interactive games, fan zones to watch matches, amusement areas for children and delicacies
03:15that will make you drool.
03:17Name it and you have it here.
03:19Representing Team South Africa here at IKAYA, IKAYA meaning home away from home, so this
03:25is the venue where we cater for all the South African tourists that are here coming to the
03:30games that are visiting and the local South Africans that have actually moved here to
03:33Paris and are residing here now.
03:35There are fans from almost 200 nations that have gathered here in Paris and some of these
03:41fans are serious Olympic goers having followed the sporting event for over a decade now.
03:48These are my Olympic pins that are traders, so I am willing to trade these for Olympic
03:54pins from Paris because I have been to 12 other Olympic games, I have been collecting
03:59since about 1988 and the only Olympic pins that I specialize in are sponsor Olympic pins.
04:05The Park of Nations brims with pride as fans gather here to celebrate their countries but
04:10also experience different cultures which is what makes the Olympics a truly global event.
04:15I am Pardeep Manohar reporting for One India from Paris.
