00:00You always look to the past to inform you a little bit about the values of a place,
00:10the values of an organization.
00:13I think the fans in Salt Lake are the best in the NBA.
00:17It was our position that we wanted to keep the Jazz in Salt Lake City and so we were
00:20determined to do whatever possible to make it successful within this market.
00:26Jazz weren't winning when they first came here, so decisions have to be made.
00:29The Utah Jazz select John Stockton.
00:34Carl Malone runs for his team.
00:36Stockton, he'll hurry.
00:37Back to Malone.
00:38He's flying through the air.
00:40You had two guys in John and Carl who epitomized that play hard, play as a team style.
00:46That was the start of the great run.
00:48Many, many years where they were very competitive and a very good team.
00:52The Jazz became the dominant force in the league.
00:55Every team that came in knew it was going to be a hell of a fight.
00:59You got the bear coming in on his motorcycle, you got the fans, packed house.
01:05Let's get ready here at home.
01:06Going crazy.
01:07And you got me and D. Will running the pick and roll getting busy right here in Utah.
01:14It was the funnest team I played on.
01:16We just had guys who were very selfless, who cared about winning, cared about this team.
01:22When I think of 50 years of the Utah Jazz, I think electric personalities, dynamic people,
01:28overachievers and innovative thinkers.
01:32There is no question in my mind that how far this state has come is because of the Jazz
01:38and the highs and lows that have gone with this franchise.
01:41With 50 years, we get to look back and see the values that we want this place to always
01:47represent.
01:48We can still be about the same thing, but we may say it a little differently.
01:52There it is.
01:53Oh!
01:54And he slid and marked it in.
01:56That brings your crowd.
01:58It feels like a full circle moment for me.
02:01Maybe this was where I was destined to be.
02:04We have this principle that we're all in.
02:08It's incredibly serious that we want a parade here in Utah.
02:12It's really a chance to go tell the story of what New Utah is about.
02:16And that's pretty powerful.
02:19With this team, everyone feels like they have a little piece of it, and so it's a connection
02:26to the community.
02:27And that's the way it's always been.
02:29In conclusion, to the state of Utah and the city of Salt Lake, the Jazz are all yours.
