Gold medallist Sarah Sjostrom explains how she considered withdrawing from the 100m freestyle in Paris

00:00Yeah, like you said, I have seven silvers in the 100 freestyle at the World Champs

00:05and the bronze medal at the Olympics 2016.

00:08So, I mean, I kind of gave up on that,

00:12you know, trying to win a gold medal in the freestyle.

00:15And even a few days before this, like after the freestyle relay,

00:19I told my coach that I don't know if 100 freestyle is a good idea,

00:26like I should maybe rest for the 50 freestyle.

00:28And he was just like, no, you have to do it.

00:31And I think it's because he believes in me more than I believe in myself sometimes.
