00:37The group who spoke in Imo language as interpreted, said, the attack was the commencement of the
00:42four-day sit-at-home.
00:44Simon Epa identified the group as the Oweri Command of the Biafra Defence Forces, BDF.
00:49In series of tweets during the week, Simon Epa stated as reported in quote thus, the
00:53people neutralized in Oweri were terrorists.
00:55We call on the Nigerian media to stop addressing terrorist Nigerian army, Nigerian police force,
01:00Nigerian air force etc. as soldiers, police and air force personnel.

02:31It would be recalled that the Biafra Defence Forces on Monday evening killed four police
02:35officers on a stop and search checkpoint along the Oweri-Onitsha road in Imo State.
02:39An eyewitness who claimed to be a resident of Irit in the Oweri West Local Government
02:42area of the state told Punch Metro on the condition of anonymity that fear couldn't
02:46allow him and others to ascertain how many civilians were also shot.
02:49He said as reported by Punch newspaper, the gunmen stormed one of the popular hotels where
02:53the police checkpoint was mounted at Irit around 6.30pm and shot at the four policemen
02:57on a stop and search duty, including a point of sale operator.
03:01They also shot then a female point of sale operator and some pedestrians who were taking
03:05unawares and rushed to a nearby hospital.
03:08It was horrific.
03:09All the people around ran away for fear of being hit by stray bullets.
03:13This road has become a soft spot for them.
03:15Last time, they also shot then several policemen on duty and civilians.
03:19Therefore, there should be enough security in this area to forestall further occurrences.
