00:00Why do you think that ticket pricing does seem to be going up nowadays compared to what
00:08it was a couple of years ago?
00:09I think that there has been a material amount of pent-up demand since the pandemic, and
00:16I think there's also been some actual business issues that have created the pressure to add
00:22more to the ticket price for event organizers that need to put on the event, supply chain
00:27issues and so on.
00:29But I think you also have to be very careful of making sure that you don't overstep.
00:34So if you look at the events like the Olympics, for instance, where there's very, very high
00:37ticket prices, there's scores of empty seats, and they have not done a great job of being
00:41able to sell out a lot of these events, and there's a lot of seats that I think many fans
00:47would have gone to if the price wasn't so high.
00:49So this is where the resale market can be very effective, and it's a dynamic market,
00:55meaning that prices can change all the time.
00:58And sometimes at the very beginning of an on-sale, like Sabrina Carpenter, it's when
01:03there's a lot of sort of like fervor and a lot of attention, and prices can kind of spike.
01:07I would wait, you know, and I would continue to check back, and we see lots of examples
01:12such as Beyonce's last tour where, you know, days leading up to the event, tickets were
01:16going for as low as 25, 30 pounds a ticket.
01:20So there's tons of value that's out there.
01:22You just have to make sure that you continually watch it, just like you do in travel, and
01:26making sure that you're comfortable with whatever price it is that you're willing to spend.
01:43Also, if I wanted to make a decision the day before, if I decided I wanted to travel, it's
01:49important that you have the flexibility, the optionality, and the certainty that you
01:53can access the event, which is not something the primary market can provide.
