ಪುನೀತ್‌ ಕೆರೆಹಳ್ಳಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಆರೋಪಿಸಿ ಮಾಜಿ ಸಂಸದ ಪ್ರತಾಪ್‌ ಸಿಂಹ, ಶಾಸಕ ಹರೀಶ್‌ ಪೂಂಜಾ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿಂದು ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು, ಬಸವೇಶ್ವರ ನಗರದ ಪೊಲೀಸ್‌ ಠಾಣೆ ಎದುರು ಬುಧವಾರ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ (BJP Protest) ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಮಾಂಸ ಸಾಗಾಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಡೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಧನವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಪುನೀತ್‌ ಕೆರೆಹಳ್ಳಿಗೆ ಲಾಕಪ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಸಿ, ಹಿಂಸೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಪೊಲೀಸರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನಾಕಾರರು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು. BJP and Hindu activists led by former MP Pratap Sinha and MLA Harish Poonja held a protest in front of Basaveshwar Nagar police station on Wednesday, alleging that Puneeth Kerehalli was brutalized by the police. The protestors demanded that action should be taken against the police who undressed Puneeth Kerehalli, who was arrested in the meat smuggling case, and tortured him in the lockup.
