00:00Thank you, Mr. Leader.
00:01So I spoke with House Dems who boycotted Netanyahu's speech
00:05yesterday, and they say that then instead of Netanyahu
00:07speaking to Congress, he should be
00:09engaging in a ceasefire deal.
00:11So what do you make of the fact that the prime minister didn't
00:14really talk about a ceasefire during the speech,
00:17given that nearly 40,000 Palestinians have been killed
00:21and hostages are still being held captive?
00:23It is my hope and expectation that in the conversations
00:28that the prime minister has today with both President Biden
00:33and Vice President Harris, that a major topic
00:37of the conversation will be the Biden-Harris peace plan.
00:43That calls for, of course, the defeat of Hamas,
00:50the freeing of the hostages who have now
00:55been held in horrific conditions for close to 300
01:00days, including American citizens
01:04alongside Israeli citizens, and for the immediate surging
01:13of humanitarian assistance into Gaza
01:18to help out civilians who have been in harm's way
01:21with no fault of their own.
01:23The Biden-Harris peace plan calls
01:25for a ceasefire of at least six weeks in phase one
01:33to allow for the movement toward a more permanent ceasefire
01:38and a just and lasting peace between Israel
01:42and the Palestinian people in a way that
01:45provides for the safety and security of the people
01:48of Israel, allows for the reconstruction of Gaza,
01:53partnerships with moderate Arab states like Jordan and Egypt,
02:00as well as movement toward normalization with Saudi Arabia,
02:07building upon the normalization that has already
02:09occurred with the Gulf states, and, of course, in my view,
02:15surging economic activity of Palestinian civilians
02:19in both Gaza and the West Bank.
02:23As part of a movement toward ensuring
02:27we can get to the just and lasting peace
02:28that every reasonable person in the world
02:31should want to see in the Middle East.
