00:18Yeah, it was really a thrilling event for the United States because they went in without
00:23much momentum, they weren't great in qualifying, they had some uncharacteristic slips.
00:28Brody Malone, who was the star of their team, was not good in qualifying, he didn't even
00:32qualify for the all-around, which was surprising.
00:35But almost every player on Team USA was near perfect yesterday.

00:44Paul Giuda just came through every single event that he was on, felt like he was performing

00:50But the real hero was Steven Nedarosik, I mean the decision to put him on the roster
00:56was viewed as kind of, maybe not controversial, but some people were saying, do you really
01:00just want a single event specialist when we have six events that we have to worry about?
01:05Well, given how good Nedarosik is on that pommel horse, it made sense to keep him on.
01:11And his ability to come off that bench with three hours basically on the sideline and
01:18just put together a near perfect performance there to guarantee the U.S. bronze medal,
01:23it was fantastic.
01:24And they just looked crisp throughout their routines.
01:26You could tell the energy that was flowing through their bench was just very high and
01:31they felt very confident.
01:33So I think it was surprising to see them do so well after a middling qualifying round.
01:38But it just goes to show you, in gymnastics, when you have your best day, you can beat
01:43just about anyone.
01:44And they came pretty close to getting that silver medal, but getting the bronze is going
01:49to feel great after a 16-year medal drought.
