Sunny Hostin Announces New Rose — Find Out Which Stars Inspired Her to Get Into Wine

00:00Tell me about this. How would you describe this wine and what made you want to get into wine?

00:04You know, I love rosé in the summer. You know, it's like rosé all day. I have the little napkins

00:09at home and that kind of thing. And I remember reading about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

00:15getting this place in France and how romantic that sounded. And I became a big fan of Miraval,

00:23their rosé. And then I'm also a big fan of Domaine Art. And I'm also a big fan of like,

00:29you know, anything made in the Hamptons. And as I started reading, writing my books,

00:37I literally wrote in to the book that Amma would start a wine, a wine brand, my protagonist in the

00:47book, because she moved to France and decided to, you know, open up a vineyard, which I think,

00:52if I'm being honest, is like a dream of mine. And so I wrote to that dream and the books became so

01:01popular, especially Summer on the Bluffs, which became a New York Times bestseller as well as,

01:06you know, really the series. And I thought I should probably do a wine. And I called,

01:15you know, a couple of people on my team and they were like, yes, because it's authentic to you

01:19because you drink rosé all day during the summer. And I was like, yes. And I really didn't know

01:25much about wine making. I know a lot more now. It's actually not that easy. I went to Bell Gloss

01:33and visited with the owner there, which was just absolutely incredible. And in making this wine,

01:41I really made the wine. I was tasting different blends and blending different things and asking

01:47for very little sugar, actually, because a lot of rosés have too much sugar. I wanted something dry.

01:53I wanted something that reflected really Amma, the protagonist in the book. And she also likes

01:59to send personal notes. And so this is my handwriting on the label, actually. And if you

02:05turn the label around, it says, I hope you enjoy Cher, which is something that she uses as short

02:11for Cherie because she's from New Orleans. And so it's really all about summer, summer peach reeds

02:18and my hopefully one day fantasy of owning a vineyard in France.
