00:00Hello, you're watching One India. I'm joined by former member of Legislative Assembly in
00:05Delhi, Mr. R. P. Singh, who is also spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party. Sir, what is your
00:12reaction to this saddening incident?
00:14Well, this is very sad this incident happened, but this is the sheer negligence of the MCD
00:19here that it has happened. The road which we are seeing on your right hand side is a
00:25road where every year there's a waterlogging. Every year. And there's no desilting which
00:31is happening. Till two years back, we were blamed that this road belongs to MCD and the
00:36road next to it where it goes and joins belongs to PWD. So there's a tug of war between MCD
00:40and PWD. I mean, Aam Aadmi Party government and BJP rule MCD. Now both are being governed
00:45and ruled by the Aam Aadmi Party. So they should have taken care of this road. The desilting
00:50should have happened.
00:51So you're saying that there was nothing done by Aam Aadmi Party before the monsoon season?
01:02There are 155 roads which Delhi Police have sent a notice for to Aam Aadmi Party on 5th
01:08of April saying that these roads need to be desilted. Please have them desilted. This
01:12will lead to traffic chaos. But as it is, they have not done it. So have they desilted
01:19this? It's not only this road. There are more roads within this area which are not
01:23being desilted. Road on which the MLA stays has not been desilted. That road also gets
01:29a waterlogged. That's called Pamposh Road. There's another road which is in Narayana
01:33Gaon which has not been desilted. There is a problem there. There's another road in Pandnagar.
01:36Please go today also. There's lanes which are overflowing with the sewer water. The
01:42roads in Budhnagar which is part of this constituency, roads are overflowing with the sewer water.
01:46So no desilting happens. But they can blame anyone. They say that authorities, the administration
01:54don't pay heed to them. That's the next accusation they put on us. The authorities or the Babus
01:59don't pay heed to them. When you have to get your bungalow or 56th road made, at that time
02:04every authority pays heed to you. When you have to make a scheme of liquor policy, one
02:10bottle one bottle free, at that time every authority hears to you. But when it comes
02:14to desilting, you say no authority hears to you. And there's a video on record of
02:17the mayor of the city which he is patting the back of the members of the MCD saying
02:23that 92% of the roads have been desilted. This was 18th June, last month itself. So
02:29but that's how it is. There's a lot of corruption which has happened in the desilting one. And
02:33also that how come a coaching centre or a library can be run from the basement? You
02:39can't run a coaching centre or a library from the basement. And there are libraries
02:45which are mushrooming in this area. Numbers would be in some 50 or probably less or more
02:49than that. But that's the number which is there. Where there are libraries being run
02:54from the basement. Someone needs to check those. There are unauthorized constructions
02:58which are happening in this area. There are fourth floor being constructed in this area.
03:03Someone need to check. And the harassment to the children which happens because of that.
03:08So all of this, someone need to come and do this. And since the MLA and the corporator
03:13are from both of the Aam Aadmi Party. So they need to come and check this and ensure that
03:17it doesn't happen. Sir, the kind of construction you have just
03:20mentioned. So don't you think that they were done at the period of BJP when they were in
03:26power in MCD? Issue is whether they were done that time or not, that's not the issue. Whether
03:31they are being done today or not. If they are being done today, then you should hold
03:36responsible whoever is the people who are governing the city. We are sitting on this
03:41corner. We are standing on this corner of the road, which is the last corner of the
03:45Pusa Road and on the Bazaar Road. I'll appreciate before you leave this place, go to the last
03:49other end from the way the road begins. As you enter the road on the left hand side,
03:53the building being constructed. Please ask for the building plan of that building. There
03:57are no building plans for that building and the building is being constructed there.
04:00Okay, so similar incident has been raised in the parliament also. So how your party
04:04is planning to tackle this? We have already done protests yesterday. We protested today
04:09also at Raj Ghat. We'll keep on building up pressure on the civic authorities, on the
04:14local MLAs and local corporators. So this was Siddharth Aravish Singh, BJP spokesperson,
04:21talking with One India. With cameraman Furqan, my name is Gaurav. Keep watching OneIndia.com.
