During remarks on the Senate floor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) criticized President Biden for his proposed reforms to the Supreme Court.

00:00On a different matter, the Supreme Court is under attack.
00:07Prominent Democrats say it must do what they want and not what the laws and Constitution require.
00:16They've incited violence against the court.
00:19We've had to put justices under 24-7 police protection.
00:25Even so, a deranged young man is about to go on trial for trying to kill a justice and his family
00:31while they slept in order to change the outcome of a case.
00:37In polling last year, the court was the branch of government with the highest level of trust from the public.
00:44But that hasn't stopped Democrats from devoting the last eight years to an all-out campaign
00:49against the court's legitimacy and ultimately against its very existence.
00:55Radical liberals have called for court tackling.
01:01Influential members of this body, including the senior senator from Rhode Island
01:05and the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, have threatened ominously that, quote,
01:10perhaps the court can heal itself before the public demands it be restructured.
01:22The left wages daily warfare against the justices, illegally picketing their neighborhoods with impunity,
01:29trying to harm their spouses' careers, and even spying on what kinds of flags they fly in their yards.
01:38Today, the Biden-Harris administration, which desperately wants these radical votes,
01:44is once again jumping right into the fray.
01:49After talking to a Harvard Law extremist who had helped then-Senator Biden stage
01:55the character assassination of Robert Bork almost 40 years ago,
02:00they decided the time has come to eliminate the Supreme Court as we know it.
02:07In his op-ed, the president says he wants term limits to his own justices.
02:12Never mind what the Constitution says. Never mind the advice and consent role of the Senate.
02:20President Biden and his leftist allies don't like the current composition of the court,
02:25so they want to shred the Constitution to change it.
02:29He wants what he calls an ethics code, but that already exists.
02:34What the president is actually proposing is a stealth process for people other than the justices to decide cases.
02:41Again, the Constitution be damned.
02:45The fact is that President Biden himself came to office and stood up a commission
02:53to investigate whether to change the Supreme Court.
02:58This morning, the president thanked this commission for its insightful analysis
03:04that supposedly informed his reform proposals.
03:10Never mind now. Never mind that this commission, co-chaired by one of its closest political confidants,
03:17didn't actually recommend that he do anything.
03:22On the contrary, it explained in detail the challenges posed by harebrained ideas like term limits.
03:30As one of the members noted, quote,
03:32we ought to be really careful about tinkering with the Supreme Court
03:36because you just don't know what the consequences could be.
03:41Why is the Biden-Harris administration so willing to put the crown jewel of our system of government,
03:46the independent judiciary, to the torch?
03:50Because it stands in their way.
03:53Don't take my word for it.
03:55They're running ads about it, pictures of the justices on screen.
04:00One commercial intones that the Supreme Court has made the president above the law
04:06because the former president asked him to.
04:10What happened to respecting court decisions?
04:14The Biden-Harris Justice Department took an extreme position in the prosecution of their electoral opponent,
04:20and they lost.
04:22Rather than accepting that they lost,
04:24the Biden-Harris administration has responded with a full-scale attack on the justices who ruled against them.
04:32This, from the folks who love to remind us that, quote,
04:38you can't only love your country when you win.
04:42Perhaps the president and vice president should take a good look in the mirror.
