00:00I've never donated before, but I think for the more broader community that needs to receive
00:11blood, and there's also a personal reason for that too, is my dad also had AML, which
00:17is a blood disorder, and therefore I've always had good intent to do it, and so today's the
00:22day where it's the emergency services blood challenge, so therefore I thought it's a great
00:27day to start.
00:28We bring our emergency service to the community, you can see the need for that, you know, particularly
00:33in trauma incidents that we attend, so I'm really passionate about doing that, I encourage
00:38all of my policing colleagues to do that, and I'm really proud to be here today with
00:43my emergency service colleagues as well.
00:45I'm happy to be involved in the emergency services blood challenge, just to lead by
00:50example basically, get all the firefighters involved.
00:56Seeing the workload at the moment, winter, hospitals are full, obviously the benefits
01:04of people receiving blood in the field, certainly motivated me to come in today.
