00:07Benji Durango in Detail Live.
00:10Benji?
00:13Hi Audrey.
00:14Are you ready?
00:16Because I haven't had a chance to rest yet.
00:18Because I just want to show you the situation here in San Juan River,
00:23part of Quezon City.
00:25And...
00:27Look at my back.
00:28I'll adjust a bit here so you can get a better picture.
00:32There. I want to show you
00:34what happened to our environment.
00:38You can see behind me
00:40the garbage that was collected after the flooding last week.
00:46It's here at Mariablo Bridge near I Rodriguez
00:49and Araneta Avenue in Quezon City
00:51which was one of the first areas that was flooded last week.
00:55You can see all kinds of garbage here.
00:57I saw a refrigerator,
00:59a motorcycle helmet,
01:00a bottle case,
01:01styrofoam,
01:02plastic,
01:03wood,
01:03and many more.
01:05The MMDA said that
01:07they have collected 400 tons of garbage
01:11from the clearing operations that they conducted
01:14after the flooding.
01:15Now, I will show you the views in San Juan City
01:19where garbage is also collected every day.
01:24In District 2, in Caloocan,
01:26one of the garbage that they collected was a bed mattress.
01:30They even had to use a payloader
01:32to carry the garbage.
01:34The garbage went to 71 pumping stations
01:39in NCR before the flood.
01:43The MMDA said that they will place a trash trap
01:48on the rivers so that the garbage can be trapped
01:51and not reach the pumping stations.
01:53The barangay officials will clean the garbage
01:58aside from the MMDA.
02:00The government is trying to discipline itself
02:05by throwing garbage
02:06so that we won't go home in disgrace
02:08especially when it rains heavily.
02:10How will we do that, Audrey?
02:12I will show you.
02:14Come here, Jason.
02:16We will put the simple garbage like this
02:18in the right containers.
02:21In that simple thing,
02:23it is already a big help for our environment.
02:26Audrey.
02:27Benji, I hope we can reach the time
02:29when we can see that the majority of Filipinos
02:32will be more concerned about throwing garbage.
02:36Thank you very much, Benji Durango.
