00:00Speaker is recognized. I'm going to yield an additional two minutes to the representative
00:04from Pennsylvania, the sponsor of the resolution, Mr. Kelly.
00:08Gentleman from Pennsylvania is recognized for two minutes.
00:10I thank Chairman Burgess for this opportunity to finish.
00:14Mr. McGovern, on the other side of the aisle, I think at this point this is not about Republicans
00:18or Democrats, this is about a tragedy that happened in a small town in western Pennsylvania
00:23which never should have occurred. And I think it's really important as American people watch
00:28this whole scenario, how could that possibly have happened? What didn't we know or what did we know
00:34that we didn't react to? Why at the end of the day there's more questions than there are answers
00:42and we can't get the answers that we ask and I think are very simple and I think
00:45if for a person who grew up there and I know that site so well and I was concerned when that site
00:51was picked because I thought it would be a very difficult place to have a rally of that size.
00:57This is not a criticism of law enforcement, this isn't a criticism of whoever it is that
01:02picked that site. This is an opportunity for this house to work together to settle
01:10the doubts that the American people have, the faith and trust and confidence that they need to
01:16have in us, that we can work both sides of the aisle when we have a crisis like this. It goes
01:21far beyond politics and it goes far beyond policies but it is truly American in every sense
01:28of it. So Mr. McGovern, as president we're with you today and Chairman Burgess, thank you so much
01:34and I think this more than anything else can demonstrate to the American people that we can
01:38work together. We can work together as Republicans, Democrats to get answers for the American people,
01:44answers that they deserve and answers that they have been wondering about since July the 13th.
01:48I thank you gentlemen so much and I yield back.
