London weather: Capital to soar to 32C with possible official heatwave predicted
Transcript
00:00Plenty of sunshine. Blue skies for much of the UK will help lift temperatures mid to
00:04high 20s, perhaps even around 30 degrees towards the London area. A little bit cooler around
00:10the coast if you do want to escape the higher temperatures. UV, though, is strong wherever
00:16you are. For much of the UK, we're looking at high levels, very high across some southern
00:20parts of England. So it is worth staying protected if you're out heading to the beach or outside
00:27for a prolonged period of time. Through this evening time, this weather front does push
00:31its way south-eastwards but weakens as it does so. Becomes an area of clouds, some light
00:36and patchy rain and drizzle over the highest ground as it pushes southwards. Either side
00:40of this, largely dry, plenty of clear spells, but temperatures holding up, starting to feel
00:46more muggy across southern parts of England and Wales, generally holding up in double
00:50figures across the board. So sunny start for most on Tuesday morning. One or two showers
00:55perhaps affecting north-west Scotland and Northern Ireland. Some thicker cloud moving
00:59in here during the day as well, stretching into southern Scotland. The cloud across northern
01:04England should break up and then plenty of sunny spells across England and Wales, parts
01:09of Scotland as well. Still a little breezy around the coasts here. And the sun shines
01:14strong once more, lifting the temperatures around 30, 31 Celsius. A little more comfortable
01:20further north, around 21 to 23 Celsius across parts of Scotland into northern parts of England
01:27as well. But plenty of sunshine, it will feel pleasant and a nice end to the day for many
01:32of us as well. Now as we move through the middle part of the week, we see an increasing
01:37risk of thunderstorms developing, particularly across parts of England and Wales. There could
01:42be some local disruption from this, so it is worth staying up to date with the forecast.
01:47And then towards the end of the week, temperatures start to return a little nearer to average.
