00:00I use my hair to express myself.
00:02That sounds pretty boring.
00:04I use my hair to express myself.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the creepiest,
00:11most unsettling, and most disturbing videos that spread across the internet.
00:15We'll explore what the clips are and any backstory behind them.
00:18But first, I'd like to caress this rusty kettle.
00:26Number 10. This is a special time.
00:28There's good reason for my glistening skin.
00:31Watching a human covered in white, thick content, using a spoon to lift some from their head,
00:36while they stare into the camera and consume,
00:38is one of the things the creators of the internet probably never envisioned.
00:41But here we are.
00:42In 2012, the Little Babies ice cream brand in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
00:46released this video to entice customers.
00:48I eat Little Babies ice cream. It keeps me young.
00:52The creepy music and narration on top helped turn this into a viral hit with millions of views.
00:58So, they made other unsettling videos.
01:00However, by 2019, the success didn't last as the brand closed down.
01:04Fun fact, the substance in This is a Special Time isn't ice cream.
01:07They used marshmallow cream for the effect.
01:09You'll wink and nod and hug and high-five each other with great enthusiasm.
01:16Number 9. K-Fi.
01:18When internet culture was in its infancy,
01:20this video played a practical joke on unsuspecting folks.
01:23When it opens, it looks like a commercial with a calm car traveling through the countryside.
01:27But then comes a screaming jump scare as a ghoul suddenly pops up.
01:31The clip was a sensation.
01:32It even sparked theories that some kind of
01:34supernatural shenanigans were caught by an unsuspecting camera team.
01:39In reality, this 2004 video was made by the German energy drink brand K-Fi,
01:44one of a series of videos as part of a campaign.
01:46Little did they know, they had developed one of the most iconic clips of all time.
01:51Number 8. Video Dating Tape.
01:54In 2017, the YouTube channel BalaclavaGirl95 uploaded a clip mundanely titled Video Dating
02:00Tape. In the description, they explain finding an old VHS tape with this on it.
02:10In the video's opening, you expect it to be funny as looking for love comes up
02:14and Tony is wearing a kind of tropical-themed shirt.
02:16Yet instead of being a typical dating video, it takes a dark turn.
02:19After cutting to a recording of a house briefly,
02:22Tony is interrupted by noises off camera and leaves.
02:25When he returns, there are more noises, this time a woman whimpering, and he explodes in rage.
02:32Next, a clip with Tony in a different shirt shows his anger issues once more.
02:36Many believed this unsettling video to be real.
02:40Number 7. Blank Room Soup.
02:42In a near-empty room, a man sits at a table using a type of ladle to eat from a bowl in
02:47front of him. At the same time, a strange person wearing a Funko Pop-esque costume
02:51walks towards him slowly. It strokes the man, who begins to sob.
03:00Giggling is also coming from somewhere. It ends with a second similarly dressed person joining,
03:04but the story continues in three other subsequent parts.
03:07The video first popped up online in 2005, supposedly coming from the dark web. Some
03:11speculated that the man was being held against his will. These outfits were seemingly based
03:16on the work of Raymond Percy, called RayRay. He alleged the costumes were stolen, but this
03:20has been disputed. Number 6. The Max Headroom Hacking Incidents.
03:27The mystery behind people behind the hijacking of two Chicago TV stations in 1987 didn't only
03:33influence countless subsequent sci-fi media, but also continues to baffle the internet to this day.
03:37Back in the late 1980s, a news broadcast on WGN-TV was interrupted by someone costumed as
03:43Max Headroom, a fictional character, as they nodded to eerie electronic sounds.
03:51The station got control back, but later that night, WTTW was hijacked by seemingly the same
03:56people. This time, it was far more disturbing. With distorted audio, Max makes one bizarre
04:02statement after another, taking shots at journalism along the way. At the end, he's bent over and
04:09being spanked with a flyswatter by a woman. The lack of explanation and no one owning the stunt
04:14makes it even more eerie. Number 5. Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared.
04:25For the first few moments, you think you're watching a cutesy puppet show for children
04:29featuring a song about creativity. Haha, nope! After a few jarring moments,
04:40it goes off the deep end when the characters cover a heart in glitter, accompanied by disturbing
04:44music. This clip was originally released under the title, Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared, in 2011.
04:49However, after the short film became a viral hit, it morphed into a web series that took
04:53the name instead, and the episode became Creativity. Over the next few years, the
05:02channel added several more creepy entries. Then, Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared became a TV
05:06show released in 2022, disturbing a bigger audience who could no longer trust Sesame Street.
05:18Number 4. The Disappearance of Lars Mittank. Known as the most famous missing person on YouTube,
05:24the last known CCTV footage of Mittank led to wide speculation about what happened.
05:29This included human trafficking, something paranormal, or a severe reaction to medication.
05:34In 2014, Mittank was set to return to Germany after being on vacation in Bulgaria. Yet before
05:39he could, he was apparently in an altercation, leaving him injured and unable to fly. After his
05:43friends left with his blessing, Mittank became paranoid that someone was after him. When he went
05:47to Varna Airport to get medically cleared, fear took over and he ran away. Mittank darted from
05:52the building, jumping a fence into a nearby forest. Since then, he hasn't been seen since.
05:58Number 3. Salad Fingers, Spoons. In 2004, David Firth released Spoons, the first episode of a
06:04series featuring his Salad Fingers character on Newgrounds. After a slow start, the series'
06:09popularity took off, worming its way into the public consciousness and developing a co-following.
06:17Perhaps inspired by Tim Burton, the apocalyptic setting with a dark-circled-eyed and long-fingered
06:22character plus a high-pitched voice talking about his love of rusty spoons was eerie.
06:28But the sound effects, like the screeching child, the scratching, and the heavy breathing,
06:35added a deeper level of dread. With people both disturbed and fascinated by Salad Fingers,
06:40the series has continued adding more episodes over the years, going even darker along the way.
06:49Number 2. The Last Sighting of Elisa Lam. In 2013, after Elisa Lam vanished, the police released
06:55security footage from an elevator in the Stay On Main Hotel, her last known sighting. The clip
07:00starts off innocently, with the Canadian student selecting buttons. But then, Lam suddenly steps
07:05back as though she's seen or heard something. After looking in the hallway, she seems scared
07:09about something. Eventually, Lam goes into the hall and appears to talk to someone off-camera
07:13before walking away. This clip led to various theories, such as Lam being under the influence
07:22of a substance, was having a paranormal experience, or there was someone after her.
07:30Sadly, her body was later discovered in the building's water tank. It was officially
07:33deemed to have been accidental. It says if guests stay, quote,
07:37you do so at your own risk and peril.
07:52Number 1. I Feel Fantastic.
08:04When this video first spread on YouTube in 2009, it unlocked automatonophobia,
08:09a fear of human-like figures in many people. Put online in 2004, it received a lot more attention
08:14when I Feel Fantastic was uploaded on YouTube by Creepyblog.
08:23The clip shows an animatronic robot named Tara singing with a distorted voice about her positive
08:28feelings. Even Tara's arm moves around, as if in some kind of limited and upsetting dance.
08:32Erica with odd camera angles, seemingly irrelevant outside of footage, and costume changes. The video
08:38has lived rent-free in the internet's mind for years. Tara was apparently created by John Bergeron,
08:43who first spoke about his work with the android in 2001. Hopefully, he didn't make any others
08:47after this nightmare. After all that creepiness,
