00:00It's time to explore the Dallas Cowboys, and we can get in our time machine and try to see what this team will look like.
00:07But right now, C.D. Lamb isn't even on the field, right, due to the contract situation that you outlined in an earlier segment.
00:13Does that change anything at all for you?
00:16No, not at all. I have all the confidence in the world that C.D. Lamb is going to get paid, be there week one.
00:22So no matter what it looks like or how long it drags on, the Cowboys literally cannot afford to play without C.D. Lamb.
00:29I think that was pretty clear last year. C.D. Lamb is this offense. The offense does not work.
00:35Defense is very good. The offense is very thin. It's very one dimensional.
00:39That dimension that you want to live in, ironically, we're talking about dimensions and things moving and time travel.
00:46This offense does not travel without C.D. Lamb.
00:49So it's going to get done and they'll figure it out.
00:52And C.D. Lamb is still my number one overall guy. And the reason is the offense is C.D. Lamb.
00:57So there's no target competition for him, really. There's some other guys around.
01:01They're just guys at this point. But C.D. Lamb's 2023 second half was unbelievable.
01:09And it started slow. Last season started slow for him.
01:11And that's something I think a lot of people forget because the end was so good.
01:15But people were bitching and complaining and moaning about, oh, when is C.D.
01:19Lamb going to have good games? And, oh, it's a miserable September.
01:22And then they were miserable in part of October.
01:24Well, they weren't miserable in November or December unless they traded C.D.
01:27Lamb to somebody else because that guy was off the charts from the middle of October on.
01:31And C.D. Lamb, again, is set up to do the same thing again.
01:35Just feed that guy the football and good things are going to happen for the Cowboys.
01:39Now, the rest of this offense is questionable here.
01:41You're bringing back Ezekiel Elliott, who I still think has something left in the tank.
01:46Can he give you 750 yards rushing and seven or eight touchdowns?
01:50Probably. And in the Standard League, that's going to be useful.
01:53Low-end RV2 fodder, for sure. Rico Dowdle.
01:58Look, there's moments last year that I liked Rico Dowdle and I thought Dowdle deserved more work.
02:03How that backfield is going to look, we'll see who they're going to dress up.
02:05The goal line is more important. That is the thing I think you want to take out of preseason with them.
02:09Who's the guy working at the goal line? Who's in those formations?
02:12Is it Zeke? Probably. If it is, he's the more valuable back no matter how much action Dowdle gets
02:17because you want those touchdowns. You want that touchdown equity.
02:20So even if Zeke carries the ball 10 times for, I mean, he's 10 times for, you know, 35 yards,
02:26but he has a touchdown, he's going to end up with a better day, possibly.
02:30When it comes to the wide receivers, Brandon Cook's still a guy that is useful in deeper leagues, for sure.
02:35Jalen Tolbert's going to be the third guy there. Michael Gallup is retired.
02:38Jake Ferguson is a really interesting late tight end because they have to throw to somebody else
02:43and Ferguson has been pretty solid. I see a very copy-and-paste season for him.
02:47But it's Dak Prescott that I don't really get, I think, enough love and respect
02:52because Cowboy fans are obsessed with winning in the playoffs as they should be,
02:55but we're talking Fantasy here. And Fantasy QB's, he was QB 3 in Fantasy last year,
03:01and he's being drafted as late as the 8th, 9th, or even 10th guy off the board in certain drafts.
03:06So I don't quite understand that. It's going to be a very pass-heavy offense, Matt.
03:10I don't see this being a grind it with the running backs kind of situation here for Dallas again,
03:15which means 4,500 yards is probably a lock again for Dak Prescott in 2024.
03:20So in single quarterback leagues or even Super Flex, Dak is a really interesting,
03:25I think, undervalued asset considering the structure of this roster.
