00:46so what do you expect to hear another good fight it was a quality fight the last time and i
00:51actually scored it the same as two judges and had her to draw but it was clear that mccann
00:56the cut affected mccann very very badly but beluda is a good fighter he's very unorthodox
01:02he swings shots from different angles so dennis is going to have to be very careful tonight

01:21this fight for the european title tonight and when i fought for the european title against
01:26kiko martinez i had the same referee juju really that's a great can't remember his name but i

01:52i'm watching a lot of stuff with dennis mccann has been posting on his social
01:57social channels he looks to be in well you can see it now with my eyes he's in fantastic shape but
02:03some of the work he's been doing i think he's went the extra mile here he knows how important
02:07this fight is how difficult it's going to be for him as well he knows that but these two know each
02:12other as well very well outside because they've sparred so many times they reckoned it was around
02:18what a hundred rounds they sparred there's little that they do not know about each other
02:25well it's a good body shot there from danis but just need to be careful with the heads coming
02:28together we don't want to fight the end of controversy again it's nice from danis
02:37oh good shot there as well just a balloon it was looking to the referee to complain a little bit
02:41okay it's got him where he needs him right on the ropes and again as he turns to get
02:46he got caught he got caught himself with a right hand that came right underneath him then did mccann
02:52and we haven't even finished the first round in this in this fight yet and i can already tell
02:59it's going to be a cracking fight danis looks like a man possessed here tonight
03:04look at the termination in his eyes you see him wandering around outside in the in the
03:09builder today he was he really did look coiled the adrenaline pumping now it is time for this big

03:30we need to see more of that from danis more of a job to take the dictate the pace of this

04:48first round anyway from either man both of them very very aggressive both of them trying to put
04:53the other man back and both very good fighters as well this is already shaping up to be the
04:59makings of a fantastic fight slippery there from mccann just repelling that advance from beluga

05:27good danis that's what he needs to do he needs to work when he when he has the chance to do that
05:30i think beluga's sometimes thinks that you know when both guys are up close there's a little bit
05:35of holding on you can't work but danis left if he has a free hand you let it go that was nice
05:40good authority and focus there from mccann
05:48good left hook again from blue he kind of jumps in with that left hook and it's very very unorthodox
05:52and even that right hand that he throws as well his right foot sometime sometimes comes forward
05:58with it but he continues to punch and stylistically it's probably not you know he's not the straight
06:04up and down fighter that sometimes we see in britain but it's unorthodox there you can make
06:11it very very difficult for you but he said mccann listen i can take him out i can take him out any
06:20time i like that was again last year but his view has not changed on his opponent he believes he has
06:28got the armory the arsenal to deal with the looter
06:40i mean both guys aren't concerned at all about conserving energy and there's a 12 round fight
06:47yeah it's hard to believe we're again the the second round and they
06:51literally the pace has been utterly relentless
06:54and more of that the more that happens we just seen that baluta throwing a shot i'm
07:00missing widely the more that he misses and danis makes a miss the more energy something that that is
07:11yeah he's he's got the speed he's lacking in a degree of accuracy though
07:15beluga at the moment it's nice movement there from danis as well
07:20lovely from distance that's all he needs to do
07:24and he's looking he's making him look off balance a lot here
07:31oh he gets caught with his straight right hand then and again he's shaken with the left
07:38right hand left good combination from mccann and that did rock the looter for the first time

08:05that was a nice shot just as baluta was again his style is very unorthodox and it can be difficult
08:11to deal with sometimes but he he comes square when he punches and it's an easier target for
08:17dennis to land and if he times it well then he can double the impact as baluta is coming forward
08:23and it takes not a lot to knock him off balance absolutely absolutely
08:29danis just needs to remain smart here but he's having it i mean that round was close for about
08:33the first two and a half minutes and then danis not that he stole around at the end but
08:39i think it just made it more convincing
08:53once again he turns square on and mccann catches it once again but
08:58lightning burst of punches little is landing though from baluta here
09:03yep i'm gonna clean up more precise work the scoring punches coming from mccann
09:15this is where dennis i think mccann needs to keep him here like
09:20keeping the shots long and when baluta does do that and he does it every night again he
09:24rushes forward and he's swinging maybe three or four different shots he's coming square
09:28that's when you create a bit of distance

09:37oh lovely lovely great hook with a lead lead half of danis
09:44very very close to landing flush on baluta's g's finding a lot of gaps in his defense

10:26if you're looking at baluta here he already you know his mouth's open he already looks a little
10:31bit tired dennis looks to be in control but i promise you as long as baluta's here he'll be
10:37thrown he'll be thrown that's a nice body shot there from baluta
10:46inside the final minute of the third round here
10:50now we see that again we'll see that that head movement from danis just evading the shots for
10:55baluta
11:12and he's he's looked composed he's looked calm mccann he's looked oh nice great hook as well
11:18there tim but as you said calm and composed fighting towards
11:32there are opportunities there for mccann again the final few seconds another big flurry
11:39from baluta as he looks to influence the referees and he turns with a smile

12:40i gave you round four oh no that was a lovely lovely shot there from danis just as blue to come
12:47in. Kind of threw that right hook. He arced it down away. It was a hurtful shot.
12:56Some of that stuff is, although Balluto's having a go and he's being brave,
13:01some of that stuff is very very good from Danis. Yeah he's slipping a lot of these. There's a lot
13:06of punches being wildly flung in there by Balluto that aren't landing. But McCann
13:15isn't being drawn into the fight that Balluto wants him to have.
13:21When you look at it, the lack of precision sometimes that Balluto is throwing
13:27and the margins are so so slim.
13:34But that's the thing with Balluto. I mean he's not, well I've said this a couple of times now,
13:39he's, in terms of an orthodox fighter, there's nothing orthodox about him. He throws punches
13:45from weird angles but that can sometimes work to his benefit. Yeah the ones that come in that you
13:54don't see. It's got to be a little bit frustrating for Balluto because when he does come in
14:09he's a little bit reckless and Danis is countering really well with that lead right hook.
14:15It's as if he's watched every shortcoming from the meeting a year ago and he's just
14:21tidied the whole approach up. Yeah I think so. I mean this will be, I know Danis pretty well,
14:27this will have been playing on his mind this fight. Although he was winning the last fight
14:32on one judges scorecard and then he was winning all three judges scorecards until the cut.
14:37I think that he'll have a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He will think that I'm a better fighter
14:42than Balluto and I need to prove it tonight and he's doing a good job of it so far.
14:48Yeah it remains disciplined, he continues to maintain an authority
14:53and you can see from the reaction what Balluto is resorting to that he is not happy in there.
15:00No he's not. There's already a look of desperation and we're a quarter of the
15:06way through a 12 round fight. But a lot of that's down to Danis and how well he's been boxing
15:14and he has made Balluto miss at times. Miss by quite a margin as well which can be
15:20as a fighter frustrating, a little bit embarrassing as well at times.
15:25I think if Danis just keeps his composure and keeps doing what he's doing
15:31you know he probably will be the new European champion. But there's a long way to go.
15:39Patient, disciplined and another round executed with authority by McCann.
15:49Yeah the corner's got to be very happy.
15:53And he's just linked up with Joe McNally. I think this might be Danis' second fight now
15:57with Joe McNally. He had a good win last time out with Brad Strang. Where it went the distance.
16:04Where it went the distance. But Bradley Strang's a quality fighter. Danis won
16:09almost every round in that fight if I remember correctly. But it always takes time to gel with
16:15a new trainer. Let's have a look at, there's a famous face. Alexander is in the crowd tonight.
16:25He is some boy isn't he? He's a man. He's got a great reception by the way when he came in here.
16:34And there's nothing flash about him is there? No listen to the reaction.
16:41Loves the British crowd. The British crowd love him. Well this is a man who beat a British hero
16:46in Pace and Fury and the reception that he got there it just shows you the respect that he has
16:50around the world. Here we go round five of 12. And you feel there's no changing of strategy and
17:03game plan here for Belluta. It's just come out swinging. Hope you land something. That's what
17:09it seems to be. He just tries a little bit more. It's not, it's kind of, he's just playing
17:17in the dentist's trap at this stage. But what you have to give Belluta credit. I mean he's had
17:24some fantastic wins in his career. Yeah yeah. Against opponents that he probably wasn't meant
17:29to beat. But he's trying. He's always trying and he's always in a fight. That's absolutely
17:36beautiful here from McCann. That's why he's such box office. You know that whoever he's in against
17:45there is it's not going to be an easy night.
17:55And I know we've talked about discipline and he's maintaining it.
17:58The work's clean and tidy from McCann. He's slipping the big punches. He's trying to land his own.
18:04And Belluta has used a huge amount of energy in this opening five rounds. But he has got some
18:16engine because you never see him run out of gas. Honestly I mean he looks like he's literally fought
18:2112 rounds already in terms of of the expression on his face. His mouth wide open. But I promise
18:27you as long as Belluta is in there he'll be throwing punches.
18:35Gannis has targeted the body a lot here as well.
18:46Just a little bit too quick and he's gonna have a word.
18:57And that sort of wound him up a bit there Belluta because again
19:03another nine-punch salvo comes swinging its way in.
19:12But again the same problem exists that of that 9-12 punch salvo in those last
19:18a couple of flurries. He maybe landed one or two.
19:27Clean defense from McCann. Slipping the big shots. Ending the round. Trying to pin his
19:34man in the corner. But Belluta's not buying that. That's great from Gannis. He's been
19:38working wonders all night.

20:36Let's have a look at the scorecard. This is how Carl has it at the moment.
20:42Every round to McCann so far. It doesn't tell the full story of the fight though. It's not as you
20:50know he's given Gannis every round. But it's not as if it's been an easy fight. Belluta's been
20:55trying. He's landed some of his own shots. There may be rounds that the judges have given Belluta.
20:59But for me I think that the more effective cleaner work has come from Gannis McCann.
21:07It's a quality fight as well isn't it Tim? It's a great fight to watch. It's
21:10much better than the the first. Yeah well the first fight was good too and I think it kind of
21:16I suppose once the cut happened it made it a better fight in terms of Belluta being able to
21:20get closer. But I think that was um I think that the the quality on show here tonight from
21:28from Gannis. He's just taking things up a level I think. As we said there's been a change in the
21:34camp with a move up to Liverpool and he's loving his time up there he said.
21:44And the fruits of all that preparatory work are very much on display here tonight. Belluta
21:51having a little bit of success there. He landed a good body shot just to start.
21:56A good counter as well there from Belluta.
22:04That was nice and that was all about distance. Gannis just stepped out of
22:08out of range from Belluta's kind of wild attack and landed landed two lovely shots.
22:23Hands have been good as well from Gannis. That left hand he's been keeping it high up
22:26and a lot of them right hooks coming in from Belluta have been caught on the glove.
22:30And again Belluta just continues to to probe and prowl around the wing looking for an opening
22:35looking to try and exploit a moment of weakness. A moment when the concentration drops from McCann.
22:42But again as you said earlier the the distance has been almost perfect that he's kept in between
22:48he and Belluta. Again another good shot there from the body or to the body from Gannis.
23:00And whenever as you can see that whenever he comes in he's trying to claim a knockdown but
23:08it isn't. But again we talked about being caught off balance.
23:12Yeah I don't think that was a knockdown if I'm being honest.
23:17And there goes the gun shield. There's another gun shield over my pads here.
23:21But again all these these things are indicative but maybe of a state of mind of the
23:32the fighter in there. Yeah I think so. I mean I'm not suggesting that Belluta's spot has
23:38gone shield out but he wouldn't have been surprised just because of you know he's trying
23:44he's having a go but again all the cleaner more effective stuff is being done by Dennis McCann.
23:51But I mean these I won this title a super bantamweight title but I wouldn't have liked to
23:59have fought either guy for it. Belluta's really unorthodox could be a tricky night for anybody
24:05and Dennis is a quality quality fighter. Let's go to Anthony Cruller up in the studio. Anthony
24:15have you been seeing things? I am. I think this is a fantastic performance from Dennis McCann. I
24:21think he's controlling the distance really good which I think is the difference. His feet just
24:26these little half steps out making Belluta fall short and he's punishing him. I know
24:32Yuzur picked up on it in commentary. I think he's hitting the body really well especially left
24:36downstairs. But I know he's just got to stay disciplined and I think he wins this. I don't
24:40think he wants to be looking for any kind of stoppage or anything. Joshe could come late on
24:44but Belluta's a very tough man to stick to your boxing. He's been boxing very well
24:49and he'll be European champion in six hours time very comfortably in my opinion.
24:58Well we passed the midway point. Here we go.
25:03Maybe it was. Yeah maybe it was.
25:05Belluta. Bad angle for us there Tim. Maybe that's why we just didn't see it. Sorry about that everybody.
25:20Maybe beginning to realize that the fight is in need of something from him. Radical.
25:36Yes.
25:45It's really important that Dennis, I know he's winning the rounds here and I'm sure he's getting
25:48that feedback from the corner but he can't afford to get complacent in this fight at all.
25:56Yes very good. He can't really afford to get it drawn into the
26:00all-out war that Belluta wants either. That is what he craves. There's no doubt about that.
26:08Just remain disciplined. Keep the distance. Keep popping that jab. Keep going to the body as well.
26:18Control, authority and a degree of meticulous approach here from Makan again.
26:30We can see there he just had that left hand cock ready to throw. He didn't throw it because he thought
26:35Belluta was just out of range but the distance control honestly some of the stuff that Dennis
26:40Makan's doing here tonight has been world class at European level.
26:50Nice body shot there from Belluta.
26:53He's trying to draw him in to the ropes where he's Belluta wants him to try and
27:05swing him around and work into his body. Again another good shot.
27:15Again no sign of Belluta beginning to starve of energy here that's for sure.
27:21Good shot there from Belluta as well. You're right he just keeps throwing but what I will say
27:26Tim is I've watched a number of Belluta fights and I kind of have a sense that he's feeling a
27:33little bit sorry for himself in there tonight. Yeah it's a good point. But that's down to the
27:37quality. Look at the stuff that Dennis Makan's doing is unbelievable. Right on their feet there.
27:42Enjoyed that again of the other guy.
27:45And that did hurt Belluta and he's on the ropes now and he's going to hang on a bit.
27:50Belluta might be there for the taking here. If he can keep it measured he can keep it accurate.
27:55This could be the end of his fight here if he manages it well. Belluta desperately trying to
28:01fight back but he's hurt from that body shot. And Makan keeping it clean and tidy right at the end.
28:07He didn't waste any energy. Realized the time was going to run out and did it exactly right.
28:12Big big round and he hurt Belluta. It was actually two shots of the body that he landed.
28:17Two lovely short shots of left and a right. But Belluta's hurting in that corner. They have to
28:23give him all the credit in the world. He never stopped trying but again it's the first time
28:29in any of the fights that I've seen that he just looks to be feeling a little bit sorry for himself.
28:35Yeah you can see the the body language in the in the corner there as they try and calm
28:44some of the swelling down. Punch accuracy 57 percent that's that's unbelievable amazing
28:52Yeah. 500 punches thrown by Makan. 57 percent of them have landed and 89 of those have been
29:06impact punches. I don't I don't think I ever had 57 percent punches landed when I was doing the pads.
29:11How does he manage this now? Keep doing what he's doing. Look Belluta's hurt to the
29:22body so he's going to slow down. I think it's important that Makan keeps the distance. Doesn't
29:27allow Belluta to get too close. Dictates with that jab from a distance and as Belluta you know
29:33Belluta comes square and he throws them kind of wild shots. That's when Dennis can step back and
29:38land them short kind of loopy shots to the body. What do you want to do now? Belluta's hurt to the
29:50body. Yes. He'll be expecting a big body attack from Dennis. I think it's important to target
29:56the head for a while. Let him forget about the body shots coming and then start to put them in.
30:01Just like he did there.
30:07Falling short in terms of ideas. Falling short in terms of precision of his punches
30:14and he's now looking like he might be falling short in energy as well Belluta.
30:20Second body shot there again. A different type of body shot. A big long straight left hand.
30:26The man's over. He's drawing for breath a bit here Belluta but he still is danger.
30:33Still over a minute to go in this round. Still plenty of time
30:55for again another brutal body assault and there you can see the hook into the body again from
31:01McCann and that's that's when you're going to get Belluta who's really really tough but that's
31:06when you get him to the body. Once Belluta's swinging them sort of wild loopy shots if
31:13Dennis just kind of takes a step back and just sends one into the body. It doesn't have to be
31:18that powerful but last week it's going to hurt. The frequency is building of the number of punches
31:27that are finding their way through to Belluta's torso in his midriff.
31:42As Belluta is beginning to you think flag in terms of energy
31:46no sign of any of that for McCann so far. Kept balance and proportion.
31:52There was a there was an example where Belluta could have could have spat the
32:00gum she let it almost come out and had a little bit of break for himself but
32:03he didn't fancy it. Tough tough man. Round ends with another body shot and another round for McCann.

32:52McCann in total control of this fight. Complete contrast to a year ago.
33:02It's been controlled. It's been meticulous so far and he has to just maintain the same
33:10for the remaining rounds of this European title fight.
33:18There's still a lot that can happen in four rounds but I do have Dennis well in control.
33:31Well again you can see he's clearly beginning to flounder and McCann quick to turn him quick
33:50to sink that right hand into the body again. I'd love to see the accuracy the stats and
33:59how accurate Dennis has been at the end of this fight. I mean you expect the accuracy to
34:05fall away a little bit the more power he gets but 57 percent shots we've seen it a few rounds ago
34:12that's that's absolutely unbelievable. He's landed nearly double the number of punches
34:22that Baluta has that Baluta has actually thrown more and landed half as many.
34:35He's really targeting the body now Dennis.
34:40What a great shot the left hand just raise a shot and again and punch him going backwards as well
34:47to him which is difficult to do he's doing it there you know he landed a shot going forward
34:50then he came out of the attack going backwards and and all the shots landed.
34:57A skill few managed to execute Nez was one of them.
35:14Look I know that I know that Baluta is being he's trying he's he's being competitive he has
35:18been hurt to the body but some of these shots that are landing are starting to get a little bit
35:27sickening. Yeah yeah but you know the one thing that he isn't going to do he isn't going to give up
35:37no he's as brave as they come if he if he fears he can't win then the least he will
35:41expect of himself is to make it to the the 12th round. Absolutely but that'll not be him cruising
35:48a 12 round points decision loss he'll be trying to win while he's in there
35:53and credit to him for it as brave as they come.
35:58There's another shot that hurt him.
36:06There it is just constantly walking back and a little swivel of the hips
36:10from McCann he knows he is only minutes away.
36:15Meanwhile backstage there's a there's a picture we didn't think we were going to have tonight.

37:12And dennis mccann
37:15Who is in the driving seat, which is where he's been pretty much for the entire flight so far
37:26If you talk about the the frustrations you think belluto came in expecting
37:30He was going to be meeting the the same mccann that he met a year ago. Um, it probably uh,
37:37But it's clear to see that the dennis has certainly improved look the cut in the last what a shot the cut in the last fight
37:44Certainly played a part in and what happened after the cut happened and dennis
37:49was headed ahead on three judges scorecards and
37:52Then he kind of you know, belluto pulled it back and allowed him into the fight, but that was all down to the cut
37:57But it's clear to see that dennis has made massive improvements in the last year huge improvements
38:07And whatever belluta tries to do he's having no joy whatsoever
38:15I mean, that's lovely a couple of little step backs a lovely straight left arm
38:21Something we haven't talked about we're talking about a lot of
38:24Positives here from dennis and i'm going to continue to do that. But his his head movement tonight has been excellent as well
38:34All right, look at that
38:37But it's not a surprise when you you picked it up earlier on he said it before about the way he moves his footwork
38:44How he attacks he's always in a position that if you get somebody as slippery as mccann is there he turns and he's gonna fall
38:51Yeah, look, he he punches from different angles. He goes to the body his shot selection's fantastic
38:57moves his head well
39:00I mean
39:01He does it all really well
39:03And that stuff just you know a second ago when we seen belluta on on the canvas
39:07He swung a wild shot and dennis just ducked under it. That's really frustrating as a fighter
39:13When you're throwing a thinner hitting that he's done it again
39:18Well, he might feel that his approach is being
39:23Ingenious or innovative
39:27But it's proving to be
39:29Easier to deal with this time around for dennis mccann
39:37I'll have to talk about I mean, we're we're 10 rounds in here and
39:41The fitness of both guys the fact that bellut is still here after some of the punishment
39:46He's been taken as a credit to his fitness, but here we go
39:50Yeah, this is where the the damage was done a couple of rounds ago when he landed those
39:55sickening body shots and belluta
39:59It was all he could do to cling on to the end of the round
40:04And just a bit of play acting at the at the end and again
40:09just the
40:10Chains beginning to come off a bit now. He's happy in his position. He's comfortable. He knows he's in a position where he's gonna win
40:18And I mean, you know credit to belluta for the toughness and resilience that he's shown but what about dennis mccann's fitness?
40:25So we're we're about to go into round 11
40:29and a hard-fought fight
40:31He looks like he could do another
40:33Another 12 rounds at the end of this

40:43What is happening under the skin what is he going through
40:48Mentally, yeah, it's an important day for joe. I think he has to win this fight

41:06In round 11 just two rounds away from a european title
41:14And belluta
41:15Re-energized knows literally he's got to take his man out here
41:19and this is where mccann has got to
41:23Maintain his his composure not getting drawn into doing anything that he doesn't need to do. Yeah on his discipline as well

41:30at the start of that round beluda threw a wild ray took
41:33And dennis caught it in the gloves. I think it's been a clear tactic tonight that
