00:00Hey guys, another video from our Crime and Emergency Services in Japan playlist.
00:04So I've showed you some evacuation and emergency areas in Japan on previous videos.
00:09Here's another one in the middle of a fairly large residential area, reasonable sized park,
00:16and they have some facilities here in the event of an emergency evacuation.
00:21So first thing you'll notice there, 32.4 metres above sea level.
00:24So usually they have the evacuation areas up high of course, just to avoid tsunami,
00:29so 32 metres should be sufficient.
00:31And then they've got some facilities here in the park.
00:34So one clever one there is they've got this thing, whatever that is, which you can just
00:40use usually to get out of the sun of course, which the kids have been doing.
00:45But up here they've got these drop down sides.
00:48So we don't usually use them of course, but in the event of an evacuation or emergency
00:53they can drop the sides down and make this into a sort of a reasonably enclosed enclosure.
01:00And then the toilets, so the toilet block that's always there, and then these two covers
01:05over here cover over the septic tank.
01:07So in an emergency they can just break out the temporary toilets and put them straight
01:12over the top of those two big holes.
01:17And of course there's water, because there's always water in the park.
01:19So that's going to be useful as well.
01:24And then these things here that are actually like seats at the moment, but you take the
01:28top off and they become like a little barbecue, so you can barbecue food.
01:35So sort of simple stuff, but it's pretty clever isn't it?
01:37In the event that you need to cater for a whole heap of people there, you've got toilets,
01:41you've got water, you've got something to cook on.
01:45And it's a fairly big space, so you can cater to quite a few people there.
01:48And swings to play on as well.
01:50And then next door, if you're wondering where those temporary toilets come from, that's
01:53a community centre next door.
01:55And at the back there, that big shed is full of all the emergency equipment that they need
02:01for over here.
02:02So it's clever isn't it?
02:04So these are scattered everywhere, all throughout Japan, so a good idea isn't it?
02:09Anyway, there was that.
02:11More videos coming soon.
